Yeah! It's a three day weekend! I have work today, yoga, and then I travel with daughter in tow to see my mother for a couple days. Carla, I'm imagining your family together for a barbecue. Jean, I am envisioning you doing some fabulous sports activity. Gymrat,, I see you with some really fun drink amongst many friends. And SJ, I am thinking that you'll be swimming laps, seeing family, and then, perhaps, seeing another symphony? I hope everyone has a phenomenal Memorial Day weekend while cherishing family and friends.

I'm working on Monday so it's not actually a 3 day weekend for me...  but I get a lot of days off so it's cool.

I'm doing a cardio/stength workout this morning.  And then... I am being utterly spoiled for the day.  My best friend is picking me up and we're going to go get mani/pedis.  Then, we are meeting DH and OP for happy hour at a wine bar.  And then, we're having dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse.  Been looking forward to this all week.

Only other plans for the weekend are to hang out with camp people tomorrow for a bonding day.  No real plans yet - mainly, because I haven't made any.  Generally, I'm the cruise director but lately, I've been keeping my head down and letting people figure it out for themselves.  We might do bowling or something indoors since it's pretty warm.

No other news on my mom other than that she and my stepdad are currently engaging in the We-got-bad-health-news-so-now-we're-eating-only-grassfed-meat onslaught of "healthy habits".  Which, given the fate of her parents, should have started YEARS ago.  I went ahead yesterday and made an appointment for my physical (end of June).  I'm going to do this time what I always want to and never do - make a second appointment to actually go in and look at my bloodwork results with my doc.  They are very good about calling with abnormalities but I want to sit down with the doc and have her explain it all to me.

I'm off on Monday, yay! It's a good reason to like corporate fitness.  My son turns 18 so we're having a family party.  Other than that, no big plans.  I'll probably do silks tomorrow, husband's niece/nephews are going to a kids parkour class to use the gift certificate I gave them at Christmas.  It's gotten so chilly here lately! It's going to be a nice cool weekend.

Have fun at the Brazilian steakhouse! I haven't been to one in years.  I'm normally the cruise director of activities, too. Sometimes I just back off but realize things don't happen if someone doesn't take the initiative.

Hopefully the scare will help your mom change to a healthier lifestyle. My dad always said the best thing that happened to him was that he was diagnosed w/ diabetes because it made him aware of all the stuff he was doing that was killing him. He lost weight, ate better, started exercising.  It's now affecting him more but he's close to 80.

FSN, I think you know me too well..Zumba and hopefully swimming omorrow, then going to Cape Cod with my family. This has been an annoying work week, and I missed the gym tonight. I was going to run, but I was on a call late. Trying to just let it go...maybe I will do abs later to get the 'calories burned' count up a little. Stress and annoyance definitely make me want to eat, and not celery and carrots...sounds like everyone has good weekend plans...enjoy...and remember...
