Aaaaahhhh...I started the day with some meditation, after waking up several times last night. Busy week...I leave either tomorrow or the next day to assist my mom with surgery. Hopefully, there are no complications, because, dd and I are supposed to leave for FL Saturday über-early for spring break vacation. Needless to say, on top of various work deadlines, I am really busy this week! I did two yoga classes this weekend. I also got most of the piece work done on my quilt. Surprisingly, I couldn't find the right fabric color for my border, so that will have to wait. Dh and I got some nice quality time together, as we work through the next phase of our marriage. Life is good! I am going tomorrow morning for yoga, too, unless my lawyer wants me at court. I like that she doesn't feel it necessary for me to be there. Although it was a little rocky at the start, she seems to be more action oriented than my last lawyer. We shall see... How are you all today?
Fresh it sounds like you are doing really good. I can feel the relief in your post.
As usual, I am totally busy this week. My 13 year old daughter has decided to take up sewing so hubby and I were trying to help her put together a sewing kit. I have to admit I am not one of those artsy/crafty moms so we are just trying to wing it. We have been trying to get her interested in some kind of hobby so hopefully this will be something she will stick with. She has an appointment this Friday at the neurologist to see if she can start to wean off meds (seizure disorder) so I am very excited yet a bit apprehensive about it.
I am throwing my daughter a baby shower so I really need to get working on it. I have no idea what I am doing. I've never done this kind of thing before so I have been all over pinterest looking for ideas. Everything looks so cool but whether or not I can recreate anything remains to be seen. As I said, I am not the artsy/creative type. I think I have decided to go with an Owly theme. I might just get on Etsy and see what I can buy. lol
The best news of all, my granddaughter took her first steps this weekend. I bought her some new pink Sketchers with light up rhinestones and she was so thrilled with those things she made attempts to stand on her own and stomp to get them to light. Once she realized she could stand up, she took a step. I had wondered if she would walk by herself (ever) and it looks like she might. She has a ways to go but it sure looked great to see her standing by herself. :-)
Cross-fit tonight and leftover pulled pork bbq sandwiches for dinner.

FSN, good luck with court stuff and I'm glad the new laywer is working out. I hope she's able to do right by you.
Karla, I'm sure the baby shower will turn out wonderfully. Sometimes simple is the best way to go. I too would struggle with doing that... I'm not crafty and most of my ideas would be wickedly inappropriate. Thankfully, my friends all know this and no one has asked me to do one. And that is wonderful news on the grandbaby! The pink light up shoes are fabulous. I would love a pair of those.
I'm off today. Planning to do a fairly low key strength training workout - it'll be the first workout since surgery. Also doing laundry and bunch of things around the house. I'm feeling okay. My nose is still sore. My nose feels really dry and my throat doesn't so it's sort of tough to treat. I'm having frequent sinus headaches still. I see the ENT on Wednesday for another check-up.
Ugh, I hate post day light savings time Monday. I had a 6am client and it was painful getting up, especially since I didn't get much sleep yesterday. Next weekend will probably be the end of ski season at our resort. I'm heading up the next Wednesday to Whiteface for a spring academy w/ a friend. I'm so excited because it was very last minute. My family will drive up to join me after and we'll either stay there, or go to Stratton. I've gotten a lot of great skiing in this year, at least for me!
FSN, have a great trip! Is it just you and your daughter?
Karla: I was wondering how you were doing. Sounds like you're doing much better! I'm not a good arts and crafts mom but I can wield a glue gun! Congrats on your granddaughter's steps. Does your daughter have epilepsy? My son had benign rolandic epilepsy when he was younger. It's scary to deal w/ young ones and seizures.
GR, hope the headache goes away. You sinus area has been through a lot of trauma so I wouldn't be surprised if you were still feeling side effects from it all. Let us know what the ENT says!
I think it's good for us all to realize our problems are first world problems for the most part. Health concerns aside, of course. i'm going to enjoy some down time after ski season ends to do nothing, maybe study for the two extended personal training certs I've been putting off and then reevaluate what I'm going to do. Maybe I should reevaluate BEFORE I spend more time studying.
I think you have something SO valuable now... perspective. Your time overseas has shifted the way you're seeing things. And I understand that you may feel like something is missing (and maybe it is - I don't know), but do your best to revel in this perspective while it's still fresh.
