good morning Monday...

<SIGH> I feel so exhausted, in part to hormones, in part because I am distressed over my son.  I was up late last night watching some reality show on teenagers losing Amish faith and their families completely rejecting them.  I see the parallel with me rejecting my son.  :(  Even though I know my son has bad behavior, I see the emotional hurt on these children, and I keep thinking there is a small part of him that is hurt by his mother.  Ugh.

Work today, I'll have to look at the workout schedule tonight, since I really do need a workout.

I DON'T FEEL LIKE WORKING!

Be safe, Jean.  The pictures look horrific of Hurricane Sandy.

Hi Fresh,

I know the exhaustion that comes from problems with your children; It is all-consuming. My thoughts are with you   right now.

Jean, I see you are in the storm area. We are going to have high wind and a little snow here but nothing too much to worry about. I hope you ride this out with little to no inconvenience!

I have to host meeting tonight for a group project so I am not sure I'll get to the gym later.

FSN - Remember, those Amish families have boundaries and you do too.  He probably is hurt but is too caught up in being "right" to realize it.  We shall hope there comes a time when he can put the macho aside and deal with his issues.  In the mean time, you are keeping yourself healthy and safe.

It was so beautiful out this morning - it's hard to believe that the east coast is enduring such terrible weather.  I had just one client this morning and came home to work out.  Strength training workout.  We had a little impromptu dinner party saturday evening so there's some clean-up to do from that.  I'm going to round out my day with a dentist appointment - yay.  :P

Breakfast: yogurt, granola, honey, latte

Lunch: chicken enchiladas

Snack: hummus, carrots

Dinner: cheeseburger and broccoli

From a teen's point of view EVERYTHING we do can be taken negatively.  You're teaching him people have boundaries and that he can't take everyone for granted. That's a far better life lesson than giving in.  You're not rejecting your son. The Amish (I haven't seen the show but am going by commercials) want their children to follow only their lifestyle which is a far cry from your situation where you want your son to respect you as a person. So, yes, he probably does think you're not being fair but that's part of being a teen.

I thought the storm was coming last night and cancelled my clients early morning, only to wake to some rain and nothing else. Ugh, I hate making a bad call but I didn't want to wake up at 4am to go to work and face a storm.  I had a couple of advice clients today, hit Trader Joe's which was stocked (good to know because they also have generators) and am home ready for the storm.  If I disappear, it's because we'll probably lose power. They're expecting a million people w/out power and w/ the storm, they can't start working on it until Wed at the earliest.  I'm thankful we're not farther north where they're having blizzards!

Wow Jean, hope things don't get too bad there. My son-in-law works for a power company and his crew was called all the way from here (middle of country) to the east coast this past Friday. He said they have stationed thousands of crews in strategic areas to try to get power back on a soon as possible. At least officials are really trying to plan out help this time.

I've heard there were caravans of power crews who've come here and are ready to help out.  It's nice to live in a big country where that's possible!  Thanks to all who've come--I'm sure we'll need them!

FYI Karla, the "subscribe" function doesn't seem to be working. If I click on it, nothing happens.
