Happy Birthday to SJ Tuesday

Happy Birthday SJ. I hope you are doing something special today.

It was -6 this morning when I got up. I am soooooooo over this cold! I did 6 miles on the treadmill yesterday (needed to relieve a lot of stress) and then went home and mopped floors and washed curtains, blankets, sheets, etc. I figured maybe if I do some spring cleaning it will help bring in warmer weather.

I plan to lift weights tonight and haven't even thought about dinner yet. Probably soup of some kind.

A group of people at the high school I went to got together and created a FB page for all the people from our high school that have died over the years. It's called ____ Gone but not Forgotten. Since Saturday hundreds of people have joined the group and people are posting pics and details left and right about fellow classmates who have died. It is so very disturbing yet morbidly fascinating. My own brother is one of the people mentioned in this tribute. I have had to force myself to stay out of the group yesterday so I could get stuff done. I am absolutely stunned over how many people from my graduation class are gone and how/when they died. It's really very depressing but like everyone else who is associated with the group, I can't stop going to look.  Ugg.

Happy birthday to SJ!  Stay warm today and do something nice for yourself (which may just be staying warm... LOL).  Also, I think it was you who asked me about my writing process.  When I'm being a word prostitute (paid work), I sit down and do it.  But when I'm doing my own writing or I get to be creative about something, it starts writing itself in my head.  Those of you on FB are familiar with my weekly "Friday" columns...  last Thursday night, DH and I were settled into bed and I had to reach over to my phone and add a note about something I wanted to include in my Friday column.  I have an uncomfortable dependency on my Evernote.

Last work day!  I was awake around 4 a.m.... probably because I am getting stressed about getting everything done today.  I worked a bit last night so I'd have a little less on my plate today. I've got two more articles to write, a final edit of the book, talking to my mom and packing.  Best friend is coming up this morning and working at my house today.  She will stay the night so we can leave bright and early tomorrow morning.  I'm planning on doing cardio this morning.

I probably won't make it here after today so you ladies have a lovely week!  Stay warm and remember that Arizona is a wonderful place to retire.  Tongue Out

Karla, I can totally see how that would depressing yet compelling.  High school stuff is always such a throwback... it doesn't take much to put me right back there (and this year will be my 20 year reunion).

Happy Birthday SJ, my fellow Aquarian.  :)  I hope you do something you truly enjoy today!  Re:  Justin Bieber, I am the kind of person who makes excuses for people, and I don't know that I would be that different if I were so young with so much money and yes-men surrounding me.  :O  Karla, that website sounds sort of creepy, but at the same time, it would be hard not to keep looking!

Ok, this is sort of gross, but I think there were bedbugs in my hotel.  It's a very upscale hotel with a very upscale restaurant associated with it, but I am coverred in little itchy bumps.  :(  I googled it, and learned that it is very common in hotels.  It's more of an annoyance, with no major problems expected, but EEEEEWWWWWW!  From what I read, it takes 1-2 weeks to go away.  YUCK.  I take my simple comforts at home for granted.

Today is a rest day, although I worked from 7 - 5.  A TON of work, and one test done!  Yea!  I have so many pressing deadlines that my head is spinning!  I think a martini is calling my name.  :)

Thanks everyone! I had a pretty low key day but I saved my cards and a present my dad sent and opened them tonight. I've had a few phone calls tonight...I guess my present to myself is that I skipped the gym and took a taxi home from work! I am settling in to watch the Stae of the Union address - I love the pageantry - last year I got up in the middle of the night to watch it when I was in Krakow. Someone at work today said 'the president's going to complain that Congress didn't do anything he asked' and I said 'I know how he feels' because the people. I Tell to do stuff at work do whatever they want. There are a few of us who vent to each other, and in the end, we just reply 'yep'. It's like a code word! Karla, the world is frozen...FSN, be careful you didn't bring bed bugs home in your luggage or your clothes! That and lice (and mice) creep me out....Gymrt, have a wonderful trip!

We have a FB page for our high school class that I don't really frequent but I've been surprised at how many have passed away.  One classmate's daughter and mother were at the Boston marathon when the bombs went off and both were severely impacted.  The mom lost her leg. But. as I've seen a couple of the stories, their attitudes have been amazing and the mom is working out and just seems so much healthier than she was before, ironically.  Attitude determines altitude.

LOL, I'd be hard pressed to imagine you anything but responsible and controlled even at 19 and being surrounded by yes men and lots of money. But, maybe you have a well hidden wild side?  Wink
