Happy New Year's Eve!

Is anyone doing anything fun tonight?  OP, DH and I are hosting a pizza and cocktail party.  Guests will make their own pizzas and their contribution is to bring a spirit or a cocktail that they've never had before.  Unfortunately, OP has been sick for two days and DH and I are both feeling a little under weather. I am still on antibiotics so I've got a pretty mild version of whatever nastiness is going around (I think that's why).  I was supposed to work today but my client is also sick so she canceled.  (Which is just as well.)

I'm feeling it a little bit in my chest so I'm going to do a super light workout...  moderate cardio and one episode of House Hunters.  :P  I'm still clutching tightly to the belief that mild exercise helps the immunse system...

Went to the movies twice last week and saw this trailer twice.  Thought you guys might get a kick out of it...  http://www.imdb.com/list/TB56Gm1AqRw/#lb-1

Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!

Happy New Year's Eve to everyone too! I had planned to do nothing but hang out at the house and read a book because hubby has to work this evening but my kids asked if they could have a get together at my house. I told them yes as long as they do the cooking and cleaning. lol So I have no idea what is in store for this evening.

The gym closes early today and is not open at all tomorrow so I am hoping to get there today to get in a few miles. I did a weight circuit yesterday and I am a bit sore from it today but it is a great sore feeling.

I'm sure it'll be junk food all night for me. ;-)

Happy New Year!  I have been doing the horizontal mummy for four days now.  The flu hit 6/10 of us for our family vacation...luckily not my mom.  I am sick as a dog, so no workout and no partying for me.  GET YOUR FLU SHOT because, trust me, if you can avert this, you will be sorry that you did not.  :(

that trailer is odd.  I really like MW, but that's an odd storyline...especially based on a true story!  I saw le Mis last week...great musical IMO.

have a good one.  I'm going back to the horizontal mummy.  :)

I got a flu shot and I'm still sick...  I suppose I don't have the flu but still.  Fail.

Happy New Year everyone. I am planning to walk to the main Market Square here around 11:30 for concert and fireworks! If it is too crazy, I will turn around and come home. The gym here closed early today and is closed tomorrow. I hope I do abs/Leg stretching although I seldom seem to...I will walk somewhere though, just not sure where. Yesterday I walked to the former Jewish district and visited one of the two active synagogues left here. The. Most moving part is the cemetery, which was totally reconstructed after the Nazis plowed under the tomb stones and made the cemetery a garbage dump. It has been excavated and the tombstones restored, but there were no reords left of who was buried where, and of ourse no order after the plowing, so the tombstones do not mark actual graves. There is a wall all around, partially constructed of stones too damaged to restore. In a poignant moment,a long time colleague died unexpectedly Saturday, and while I was at the synagogue, a close colleague, who is an immigrant Russian Jew called so we could console each other. I would not ordinarily take a call in a holy place, but it felt appropriate to talk to her there. My advice for 2013. - do the things you've always wanted to o- don't wait because none of us know how much time we have. And make sure the people you care about know it. And in keeping with tat, although we meet only in cyberspace, you are all. Very important to me, and I hope 2013 brings peace and joy to you! Happy New Year!

Oh yikes Fresh! I'm so sorry to hear you have been sick. There is wicked stomach thing going around the town that just keeps getting passed back and forth. My family is now drinking purely bottled water and using hand sanitizer like it is going out of style. I wore gloves in Walmart yesterday and peeled them straight into the washing machine when I got home.

I pray we don't get the flu. I can't deal with it after the stomach thing.

Hope you get some energy back soon!

Oh wow SJ. I'm so sorry to hear about your colleague. Were you close?

I just finished another book about the Nazi occupation of Poland and this one was about the Lotz Ghetto. It would be so weirdly interesting to walk the streets where so much horror and trauma took place.

Whew, I've logged in about a dozen times before I could post!  Tenacious is the word of the day. Sorry to hear you and fsn aren't feeling well. Is tis a new thing for you, or is it part of that long time recurring undiagnosed problem?  That trailer is a riot.  I'm not quite sure what it's about but I did wonder if I could do those sit ups from an aerial silk.  Oh, wait, I have tried that and couldn't get up from upside down w/out momentum.  Weak core.Tongue Out

Super frustrating day. I was supposed to have 7 clients, 4 working, 3 advice, starting at 6am.  After getting ready, find that 6am has cancelled.  Get to work, but one trainer was out, emergency, and they moved two working clients to my schedule, and moved my three advice client to another trainer (timing).  Fine, only the two they moved over to my schedule cancelled and they didn't tell mw.  It's all very convoluted because different people handled it but my boss thought the two who cancelled were still w/ original trainer and told him. Which meant I went from 7 clients to three, was up early for a 6am when I didn't have to be and waited around for two clients who never showed up.  So frustrating!  Many positives with where I work but this is one big sticking point.

I don't know if I told you all but after all that skiing in a row, two hours of parkour of Friday night and then teaching beginners (which means skating uphill on the bunny slopes repeated), my legs are exhsuated, even though I did nothing yesterday. I really need a break, plus it's cold so it's a good day for fleece and doing nothing.  I love fleece.  To celebrate tonight, or as I told my client that I was going to get started early on NE celebrations, I'm going to lie on the couch.  Doubtful I'll be up at midnight.

That must be sombering and touching to see all that, up close.  It's something I think I should see, and yet, something I'm not sure I could see w/out falling apart.

Sorry to hear about your co-worker, too.  It's a sad reminder but as we go to the new year, a good one to keep in mind.  It's easy to caught caught up in minor inconveniences, or as they say, first world problems.  Important to remember we're lucky to have them matter.
