Heat wave Wednesday

Well, not exactly a heat wave but it's close to 90 which is crazy for this time of year, especially given how chilly it just was last week.  I had a bunch of clients today and the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night so I'm exhausted. I still don't have my workouts down and am doing nothing today.  It's turning out more that I either work out 2 hours a day or none.  Oh well.  I don't know if I've told you all my ankle, the one I broke a long time ago, has been bothering me a lot lately. I don't think there's anything that can be done for it so I just have to deal.  Where are you all today?

Wow Jean, you guys are hotter than we are.  We're having a cool front and it's been super nice.  Sorry to hear about your ankle.  Might be worth getting checked out in case you hair a hairline fracture...

I got bad news at the ENT yesterday.  He found a bit of an infection in my nose/sinuses so I'm back on antibiotics again - BOO!  He did say it's not unusual to get infections post surgery because it does take quite a long time for everything to heal property.  I've been plagued with horrid sinus headaches for two days, and now, thanks to the antibiotic, I don't feel like eating and my parts are all clogged up once again.  I am truly, truly hoping that this is the just part of the process.  I decided to rest today and I'm not doing anything.  (I'm also feeling pissy and a full on temper tantrum is rather appealing right now.)

The ankle hurts because the scar tissue has built up around the nerve, over the years.  If it's compressed or aggravated, it gets worst.  Plus the scar tissue limits flexibility.  I limp and don't even realize it these days.  The doctor told me I have a lot of flexibility and strength in the ankle, given the trauma I had (I had pins, screw, plate to fix it). As I google it, people have a surprising amount of problems w/ trimalleolar fractures and I'm lucky I've been okay.  Many can't function.  My doctor said other than surgery to remove the scarring, which would result in more scarring, the best thing is to keep active and keep it moving.  But, I've also talked to quite a few people who think scar tissue massage might make a difference. The problem is it's really painful, not covered by insurance and it wll make a small difference at most.  If there were someone in my area, I might try it but I haven't found anyone yet.  I've also read that if you don't get a good person, it could cause more damage.  So, I'm at an impasse on dealing w/ it. I'm okay w/ some pain as long as I know it's not causing more damage and the doctor says it's not. So...

Sorry to hear about the sinus infection!  I always think of surgery and all as a miracle cure and it's hard to deal w/ it being part of a long process.  I think you have every right to be pouty and pissy w/ alll you're going through.  Hey, weren't you taking boxing lessons? That might help?

Jean sorry to hear about the ankle. Nagging old injuries never seem to really go away do they?

It was 85 degrees here today and I spent the day at two different parks with my daughter and granddaughter. It was so glorious. It is going to storm here tomorrow then be down to 20 on Friday. It is crazy!

My husband has some sort of stomach virus and has been sick for 2 days. Ugg. So, I haven't been to the gym in two days because there is no one to watch the granddaughter while I am working out.

One of my cats is sneezing like crazy. Can cats have allergies?

Oh wow, that must be very disappointing to have a sinus infection again after going through all that ordeal with the surgery.

What about some long term decongestan-would that help?

Nagging old injuries just get worst as we get older! It never occurred to me when I first broke my ankle that it would only heal temporarily.  I'm wondering if an ankle replacement is in my future--when they get the technology better. Between that and bad knees I'm giong to be bionic woman.

Sorry to hear about your husband. It's been going around here, too. Wash your hands often!
