It's cold and rainy here Monday

It was so nice here this weekend with highs in the 70's and the sun shining. Today it is cold and windy and raining. The temp has dropped 20 degrees and it is grey and ugly out. I can't complain too much though because I do have electricity. ;-)

I walked 5 miles yesterday and I feel so good about it.

I'm working on a group project in one of my classes that is very involved and only two of us in the group have added any kind of input. Ugg. I don't know why people don't check in more often in classes. There will be people checking in 2 weeks after projects are due to ask what they can do to help. I don't get it.

Karla, people do that because they can and they usually don't have to work as much.  It's one of the reasons I hate group projects.

I had an easy day.  Strength trained this morning and trained this afternoon.  I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new athletic shoes.  I think I tweaked my knee last week... until I realized it's been nearly a year since I bought shoes.  I try to replace them every six months but I guess time go away from me.

Breakfast: oatmeal

Lunch: chicken cucumber hummus pitas

Snack: yogurt, granola, honey

Dinner: salad with chicken, tomato

It just simply amazes me. I am in a group with 8 people. The class is called: Office Procedures and Team Dynamics. 1/3 of the grade is from group projects and I know of at least 6 people who are not going to get points for group projects. At the very best if they get everything else perfect, they will barely get a C in the class. All they have to do is reply all to an e-mail, post to the group discussion board and blog, and show up for the meetings to get some kind of grade (they don't even have to add meaningful information!) and they still don't do it. I just don't know why anyone would bother if they don't care enough to try.

Because it's worked for them in the past...I remember a woman who tired to scam our group and thprofessor.  We were so pissed, that we turned her in.  The professor was forcelearn reduce her grade...hopefully, she learned a lesson, but you just never know.

FYi, I posted this morning, and it would appear that it didn't "take"...just sayin'...

Sooooooo, mt morning started with an email from the prez saying that some people will be losing their jobs....bit he knows he can count on us to stay committed to the job....I have gone through 4-6 "downsizings" with this company...I stopped counting.  C'est la vie.

Odd...I was unable to continue typing that my post...whatever...kickboxing today, long workday, lots of stress wondering who will get fired...more information to come this week.  I also called the court appointed therapist and let her know that I am willing to see my son IF he apologizes, IF I see a change in his behavior, and in the presence of a therapist.  I really think that nothing has changed EXCEPT that my ex is taking me to court.  My son has never responded to key phone calls or to the two presents (birthday and vacation) I bought him.  Whatever.

life goes forward.  Have happiness each and every day!

It goes along with the same issue I have over and over with people - I ask for RSVP's and don't get them but people still want to attend my event anyway. I will never understand why it's so difficult to click "yes" on Facebook but apparently it is. I also don't think it's that difficult to not be late to things but that too is a huge obstacle. Whatever. :P

Good luck with the downsizing. My mother and my husband's mother went through that for years. :( How depressing. *hugs*

It was sunny and warm here..but the cold and rain is coming...I chose my housing in Krakow today...and I didn't choose the cheapest alternative...which is not like me...the apartment I chose has the bedroom in what looks like a loft area, and looks like it has more room and furniture than the other choices....it is very modern looking..I think I will need t buy a blanket to cover the white couch... I am still dealing with weird pain - it shifts between my side and the center of my abdomen. I hope it is a pulled muscle...the pain responds well to Ibuprofen which gives me hope it is muscular. I have never had any kind of internal stuff like gall bladder or kidney infections or stones but I don't think painkillers would work on them...I did call my doctor"s office today but I was on hold so long I finally decided thy were probably losed for Veterans day. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I did gu to the gym and lift, biked for five minutes irst, ended with abs, but no run. My foot hurts too, but I know what that is...I am still babying it, but I am not afraid of what it means if that makes sense. FSN - I love how companies think people will be loyal to them when there is little loyalty to people. My philosophy is that I do a job that I am proud of, but after I get the paycheck for that week, nothing is owed on either side. I give a lot but I enjoy my job, and the money it pays. I know that when they are done with me, they will be done...but it isn't easy to go through layoffs whether you stay or go. Karla - I don't know why people don't act responsibly...I would like to believe that it catches up with them eventually, but I am not sure it does. In real life, you seldom get to tell anyone what your grade point average was in school...after your first job, it doesn't much matter...a degree with a C average is the same as a degree with all A's...but you know you are doing your best, and that is all you can control. Gymrat - don't know why people are so rude....I don't do a lot of reaching out to people because I hate rejection, so I mostly don't deal with this...but you are so octal, it must be annoying when people don't respond

It prepares you for real life because that's what happens when you start working, too!

I'd love to see your place!  I love watching House Hunters International. Kel got me addicted to it.  Pay attention to that pain in your abs area--there are so many things it could be there.  Let us know what the doctor says when you reach him/her.
