Last Friday of the Year
| Fri, 12-28-2012 - 10:03am |
Hi Everyone,
I can't believe it is the last Friday of the year. This year has flown by for me. I've had better years and worse years so I am not going to complain about it. I have no big pressing plans this weekend. I may refinish my kitchen chairs but not sure if I am ready to take on a project that big right now.
I've got ribs in the crockpot and I'm heading out to the library later to grab a few books before the snowstorm for tonight heads in. If we truly get 4-5 more inches we may be shut in for a while.
I suppose it is the last Friday, isn't it?
I'm off today but taking kitty to the vet this afternoon. I did a workout on my step 360 this morning. Not sure what else I'll do for the day.
Hey, I'm back! Whew, that was one long trip. I passed my level 1 ski, did a five day clinic and then my family joined me so I ended up skiing 12 days in a row, which is far more than I have ever done before (I think the record might be 3 before!). The drive back from Vermont took forever on Wednesday and I spent all day curled on the TV yesterday. My son wanted to go to parkour but I just didn't have it in me to get off the couch with the cold winds blowing outside. Feel so much better today, went for a walk and I will either go to parkour or silks. Leaning towards silks but we'll see. My son wants to do parkour so it's a good mom/son activity and I'm happy that he wants to do it w/ me. The ski resort opens, at least just the bunny slopes, tomorrow so I'll probably start teaching. I feel like I could use a vacation from my vacation!
Do you get much of a workout on the step360? What do you do? Mine is in the garage. I use it on the rare occasion that I train out of the house, and the person can't handle the BOSU yet. But, overall, I don't get much out of it.
What is Christmas like there? Did you have a place to go? Sorry if you've already said--I haven't had a chance to read the older threads yet. I think you could join the guys in the lifting area. Show them what American women are like!
Yep, I do. Yesterday, I did a step workout like you'd do on a regular step and it got me sweating pretty good. I'm starting to prefer it over the BOSU after that ACE article about the torsion it creates on the ankle. That was always one issue I had with it and science validated it. :P
I went to a lecture about foot/ankle problems and they had the same concern w/ the BOSU. We might have talked about it then. I think there is a place for the BOSU in helping to strengthen the ankle and for conditioned athletes who have good body awareness but there is a much bigger risk of ankle injury.
