Let's get the folder right Friday

I had a terrible night sleep and have to go to work soon.  Hope I can keep my mind focused!  I'm heading out this afternoon for the Diva Dash tomorrow.  A few of us are spending the night up there and hanging out tonight.  I'm looking forward to it!  LOL as if I don't spend enough time away from home. I think it's about 55 nights away from home since early Dec.  Dance drama continues with my daughter. She came home from South Carolina dance camp on such a high and loved dance. With the new class placements, she's demoralized and unchallenged. They've combined far too many levels and she's in a pointe class w/ girls who've only done it a year and she's on her fourth year.  Now she wants to quit next year. I don't care whether she dahces or not but I'm feeling bad that she was on such a high before.  She wants to do capoiera and aerial silks more seriously which I think is cool, though.  Everyone does dance, at least in this area and the other two are outside the box. I told her if she does silks more this year, we can go to circus camp in Vermont this summer.  I need to get my silks installed!

Wow-circus camp sounds very interesting! Would the two of you do it together?

Good luck at the Diva Dash. I had a good run this morning so I feel like it makes up for my dismal run earlier this week. lol The weather couldn't be nicer right now but we are expecting severe storms to roll through in a few hours. I decided I had better get out early while I could.

I was fully intending to give up the running and get back to walking after my race but now my sister wants me to be in a Turkey Trot 5K in November. I am leary of the weather (as you know I am a weather wimp) but I am considering getting myself the proper clothing for cooler weather and continue on with running for another month or so. I have generally quit jogging in the past because of a nagging hip injury, but at this time, I have not had any problems with it.

We won't know about my granddaughter's MRI results until later this afternoon. We are all praying they tell us that she is fine and just on a growth spurt or something.

Jean, that is a bummer for your daughter.  Since "everyone" does dance, I think you should encourage her to do the other things she's interested.  Start the anti-Mombie campaign now.  Wink

Karla, that's good news about your hip.  Let us know about the MRI when you find out.

I got the first "magic injection" yesterday.  (It's Xolair, for anyone who is interested.)  There is a risk of anaphalaxis with it so I had to sit there for two hours to make sure I didn't die.  I have to do this every two weeks for an indefinite amount of time.  The pharmcy only ships enough serum for two injections (probably because of the insurance company as it's very expensive) so that means I will have to call them every month to get a refill.  Had a bit of a meltdown yesterday.  I've been so tired and am tired of being tired.

Still no exercise.  Frown  It's been about a month since I worked out.  I don't remember the last time I took this much time off.  I don't think I ever have actually.  Part of me keeps feeling like I should exercise because technically I can.

I'm seeing a client this morning and then hoping to finish that relocation article.  No real plans this weekend.  My attitude kind of sucks right now so I need to work on that.

Wow...circus camp?! That sounds like fun! You sure do a lot of fun things! Too bad for your daughter. I remember when my daughter didn't make it to varsit cheer in

her senior year. Most of the varsity squad was made up of freshman from a gymnastics class. Anyways, she was CRUSHED, embarrassed, and very down. That is why I encouraged her with her job. However, I have found, personally, that I have learned more from these "negative events" in that I try not to repeat them in the future. Karla, prayers for London, and good for you for staying with your workouts and runs. GR, {{{hugs}}} with your health issues! How annoying. Speaking of health issues, I am going to see my doc today. This virus is getting worse, and. Am supposed to go downtown tomorrow night for dinner and a show with friends...but I am miserable. I am wondering if I should give my tickets away, but they were so expensive! I am too tired to workout today. I made a large vat of chicken soup, and can only tolerate the broth at the moment. I sound like a horrible smoker right now. :(

My husband said the same thing about my voice...  it seems to go in and out.  It has that phone sex operator-ness to it.  Hmmm.  Side job?  Cool

That's exactly why I'm encouraging the other activities!  She loves the idea of being outside the box, too.  Or as my son said, she loves to tweet about how she's outside the box. So, it's much cooler to do aerial silks, capoiera, photography, junior ski instructor than another ho hum dancer.  And, I get out of the dance mom community which would be awesome.

What's the magic injection for? It better be pretty amazing if you have to risk anaphylaxis!

Yeah, at 17 anything is crushing. What a great pick up for her to get recruited to be a model!  I'm thinking I might bring my daughter to see my friend's daughter who is a model. It would be an exciting trip.  But, she's so busy w/ dance and all.

Hope you feel better soon! Is there any way you can sell the ticket? Your friend might appreciate it rather than risk getting sick.

Ugg. My heart is sick at this moment. It is worst case scenario and my granddaughter will need spinal surgery in the next few weeks or she may lose the ability to walk/move. The neurosurgeon is very experienced and says he has performed many of these operations. He says her walking should improve from what it is now after the surgery so at least that is good news. :-(

{{{hugs}}} Karla...how scarey!  I, too, admire for your ability to see the silver lining.  You are an inspiration to those around you.

jean, yes, we just made the executive decision to not go.  i don't want to be responsible for getting anyone sick...especially my husband!  He has one month of training to go before the marathon.  :(. Boo.  I really wanted to see that show!  C'est la vie...first world problems.
