Midweek Wednesday
12
Wed, 12-05-2012 - 9:45am

Using my iPad, it's too difficult to read all of the posts from Monday and Tuesday, so I'll read them later...I am so tired...still sick, worked with a corporate person on Monday, met my new manager yesterday...I turned down two invites to linedance tonight because I am so physically exhausted....I really feel like calling in sick, but I have an important meeting scheduled, so off I go. I can't imagine working out because I am just too dang tired!

Aww Fresh, I'm sorry to hear you are so sick. Are you taking in plenty of fluids to help flush things out?

I finally broke down and went to the doc today over my hand and elbow and got bad news. They think I need to see an hand specialist asap. I guess I will get something scheduled as soon as possible.

Going to do just cardio tonight. Probably leftovers for dinner.

FSN - no meeting is important enough to go o sick. What would you tell your daughter? Love yourself the way you love and care for her. Karla - I think I missed what your hand issue is...hope it is not too serious. I am moved into the bigger apartment - it is really nice, and now that I am packed and unpacked, I think I am glad I had to make the change. When I got her tonight I had no English language tv stations, so I sent a text to see if it could be iced and they were here in a half hour. I think the setup in the other a is tong because I am getting several channels now. I don't want to pend all my time watching tv but the quiet is lonely...I like background noise. No workout okay except running up and down the stairs unpacking. I am planning to go to the gym before work tomorrow. Not sure how that will be, but I'll find out...

How was your new boss? I have to agree w/ the others--it's better to rest if you're sick!  I'll bet the others would appreciate it, too.  My friend had an interview the other day and she said the person was really sick and even shook her hand. She said that set the whole meeting off on the wrong foot.

I had four clients today and three advice clients and was wiped out. I'm being a gym rat and getting to the gym before I have to drive daughter to dance but I don't love this instructor. She spent the class after Thanksgiving talking about burning off the pies she ate for the holiday. Really, let's just work out because it's good for us and not because of pie calories.  Pet peeve #4956.  This is a "power hour" class which means nothing. Half the classes are power hour.  Oooh, I sound grumpy.

Yikes! What do they think is happening with your hand?

Wow, you move fast! New apartment already? Glad things are working out there. I'm sure you'll find a routine soon as your workouts go. It's always disorienting with a move and yours was a big one!

Hey Happy and Jean,

I don't know if you remember but several months ago I started having this real bad pain in my elbow. I thought it was from doing pull ups so I tapered them down.It didn't clear up and the pain in my elbow spread down to my hand. Now I have this numb feeling in the last two fingers and a cold/stabbing/tingling sensation in half my right hand. At the end of the day the pain and numbness in my hand and elbow is horrible. I thought this was an exercise injury but the doc doesn't think so. I have already had carpal release surgery on this hand and they are thinking either it is scar tissue pressing on the nerve or cubital tunnel syndrome. I have an appointment with a hand specialist in two weeks so I'll guess I will go from there. I'm hoping that a splint, steroid shot, and stern lecture are all I am going to need for this.

Happy, your life sounds so exciting.  I can't begin to imagine if I could be brave enough to move to a foreign country by myself.

FSN - I like Happy's advice... tell yourself what you would tell your daughter.  Corporations MUST know the productivity lost due to people coming to work sick (and getting others sick).  Take the time you need to get better.

Karla - Positive thoughts for your hand.  I hope it's nothing serious.

Happy - Congrats on the larger apartment.  I like background noise too.  :)

Jean - Totally valid pet peeve - on both counts.

I had a very chill day today.  Went to the dog park this morning, worked out and went to get blood drawn.  Woo.  Exciting.  :)

I am not sure I am brave enough to do this either...but I figure the worst that can happen is I will be overwhelmed and go home...and it is only three months, which in the course of a life is nothing...I knew I would be moving...the bigger apartment wn't available until today. My tendency was to choose the cheapest thing, but I was convinced by my trainer that I should choose based on my position in the company not my cheapness...so I did... Gymrat - do you have a dog? Or you just like dog parks?

Oh, Karla, that sounds horrible about your hand/elbow. YUCK. At least there is technology to help with that. Can you imagine before surgery how people must have suffered?! I am amazed with what modern medicine can do! Jean, you are entitled to be annoyed with subpar classes because you put so much effort into improving your classes, and you know what CAN be done! SJ, omg, packing and moving AGAIN...aaarrrggghhh...you are persistence throughout your life, whether it is your workouts or your living abode. Good for you! Gymrat, yes, what is with the dogpark? Is it just a serene backdrop for a walk? Ok, I was also lectured by a peer that I should take a sick day tomorrow. I haven't been feeling well since Friday, and I thought I was "fighting off" that virus all last week. I have minimal sinus issues, but I am just so dang tired! I didn't even go to the yoga class tonight that usually leaves me feeling that I didn't work out. :( I DO have a hair appointment tomorrow, in preparation ofthe hoilidays. I love getting fresh "do"...and I am in need of a manicure.
