Good morning. I have had such a busy morning! Between the carpet cleaners and HVAC people I haven't had a chance to get into my living room to check out the morning posts.

Yesterday was mine and hubby's 27th anniversary. I tried out a new italian dish for dinner and it turned out great.

I have to go to the nursing home today to take a bunch of stuff for Father-in-Law. He is doing very well and probably going to outlive us all. It is totally unreal.

I'm going to do a weight circuit this evening and have leftovers for dinner.

What is everyone else up to?

Congrats Karla! :)  That is wonderful.  So odd about your FIL.  Is he lucid now?

I've got 2 clients today and I'm going to do cardio soon... probably a step workout.  The house is an utter disaster.  We were gone most of the weekend and DH had a nasty week last week so not as much cleaning got done.  I need to get things in order.

I'm feeling somewhat better, I think.  I talked with my surgeon extensively on Saturday (he was at the party we attended - how's that for party chat?!?!) and he wants to see me sooner rather than later.  He says that people who had what I had sometimes need to do a really long course of prednisone.  Apparently, when tissues have been inflamed for that long, it can take quite a bit to get things running normally.  Who knows...

Breakfast: jimmy dean sandwich

Snack; latte

Lunch: ?

Snack: ?

Dinner: veggie wheatberry salad

Happy anniversary! What Italian dish did you try?

It took me forever to get in today!  I can't count how many times I had to log in and didn't. LOL, I kept thinking of that definition of insanity. I had an early morning client and then went to zumba.  The past few days, I've been exhausted, as in don't want to get off the couch exhausted. I'm going to start eating better to see if it helps. We bought a Vitamix blender so I can start making serious vegetable drinks/smoothies.  I ran close to 5 miles yesterday which was a mistake since I've barely run since Dec.  My ankle really hurts and I'm thinking I need to see a podiatrist again.  Even if it's just scar tissue pressing against the nerve and the impact is good for it, it's starting to hurt a lot, chronically.  I'm limping all the time now!

Hi Jean,

There was a problem with log in this morning and I haven't heard yet what it was (last week there was a similar issue which was a result of a problem with the new company hosting the servers). I know that for about an hour it was difficult to log in. I am hoping for a tech update this week so I'll let you know if I hear anything new.

In the meantime, this message board has been chosen to host the new iVillage Community Challenge. It will feature guest coach Bob Harper and he will be answering some questions. I'll be starting a sign up thread in the top folder here shortly for iVillage members to see. Hopefully we will find some new friends to add to our little group from this.

Thanks everyone!

Gym, my fil is lucid again for the most part. He is unquestionably mentally ill.

Jean, I am not a great cook but am trying to do better by following recipes. I made this last night: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Bow-Ties-with-Sausage-Tomatoes-and-Cream/Detail.aspx

My family loved it so I consider it a success.

Hmm, I'll refrain from comments about celebrity trainers but I'm glad it wasn't Jillian Michaels at least.  But, new people--yay!

Karla, I find it absolutely appalling that Ivillage is having community challenges when logging in is a challenge. What is the point in attracting new members to a service that is such a disaster? That we hang in here is a testament to how we feel about supporting each other, not to the provider. Jean, how much are you icing your ankle? Gymrat, does all that prednisone make you hungry? The only time I ever took steroids (for an unbelievable case of poison ivy). I was like 'mashed potatoes, give me mashed potatoes'. I went to the gym tonight, 2. Minute bike warmup, lifting or Ches/back, ran 1.75 mile in 24:35. I am traveling to NJ tomorrow or work for three days. I've packed my running shoes...

Ditto the comment on log in problems. I wonder if Bob will have the same issues?

I ice frequently, especially after I do anything. I have been reading more lately, though, that ice might prevent the body's natural healing process, similar to stopping a fever can slow your body's response to fighting infections.  I haven't read enough to convince me to stop, especially since it stops the pain and I take too many NSAIDs as it is.

Ice and ibu are the only way I can work out...I know the difference between pain you can work through and pain that means stop..a least I think I do...maybe not. Yes, if Bob can't log in, the challenge will end quickly...I resent the way the 'Biggest Loser' shows people losing ten pounds or more in a week...so unrealistic for most people.

SJ- log in issues-Ugg.

You took steroids for poison ivy? It must have been a horrifying case of it.
