The Monday After Black Friday

Hahaha-I went to my first every door buster event at Walmart Thanksgiving night. I could not believe the crowds. For the most part everyone was happy and excited and it was a very fun thing. I ran into so many people I knew (small town) and I was amazed at the pile of stuff in most people's carts. My purpose was to snag one of the Barbie cars on special but I didn't get one. I obviously arrived waaaaay too late. lol Next time I will know better.

I have had a super-dee-duper busy weekend with family and am looking forward to a nice quiet evening at home. We are expecting our first snowfall tonight (yuck!) so I plan to get to the gym early if I can.

Hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving!

It sounds like a nightmare to me but I know people enjoy it.  We had one guest leave our house on Thanksgiving at 10:30 p.m. and one at 12:30 a.m. - both reported that the Walmart closest to my house was absolutely full.

My parents are in town for one more day.  So I guess that means healthy eating will be happening tomorrow.  :P  I did get in a cardio workout this morning and it was okay.  I'm still kind of sick but on antibiotics that would probably take a horse down.  It felt good to exercise although I look forward to feeling up to a "real" workout.

It's been a fun holiday but I'm ready to go back to normal... at least for a little while.  :)

Omg, busy is an understatement! I had fun with dd, travelled to see my mom, run errands for her, drive her to some events, travel back, go to a FUN party, decorated for the holidays, relaxed a little with dd and dh, and got up super early this morning for WORK. Phew. I made chocolate covered strawberries, and had dd deliver some of them to ds. I decided that I should make a condensed life scrapbook for my son, along with headphones, for his Xmas present. Karla, I did Black Friday shopping ONCE, and have never gone again. Gymrats, how was your dinner party? I have been working out every day, although Saturday was my rest day. No workout today, so far...to busy with work.

I'm at a new junction in my life so I thought I would try something new with the Thanksgiving night shopping and it was truly very fun.

My husband and three older children had to work Thanksgiving night (as well as several other family members) for the first time ever, so we had a big family lunch. My hubby went to take a nap so he could be at work at midnight and I hit Walmart with my youngest. We had so much fun just being in the excitement that it might become a new family tradition for us. LOL.

I hope to get to the gym today to do a few miles and walk off a couple of pounds of cookies.

I've seen pictures of the shopping--it sounds crazy!  I guess if everyone is in a good mood, it could be fun. I was supposed to take my kids to see Wreck It Ralph w/ in-laws and families on Friday and then bring my daughter to black Friday shopping but got a call from my friend who was really sick and needed a last minute sub. So, thankfully got out of the shopping.  Thankfully my son was able to drive.

We had a fairly uneventful long weekend and it was nice to have time off. I had the best time at silks and parkour on Saturday.  I did zumba today--needed the break. My abs and back are tired from parkour (we ran towards a vertical pole, jumped at it, grabbed it while legs swing out and did a 360+ spin, kind of like kids would do.  Then the instructor put a plank so we could release and land on the 2x4. Then when we could do that, he removed the plank, put a short wall there and we had to move from the pole to the wall, hanging on.  Then, we ran towards a horizontal pole higher and had to leap at it, pull our legs over a string and shoot forward. Hard to describe.I'll try to find a video). But, my legs were tired for my run yesterday from all the jumping.

I started the day w/ three clients which, imp is the perfect number.  It's enough that it's worth getting out of bed and driving there but not so many that I feel burned out by the end. It's over before I know it.

Here, only the wall is almost next to the pole because there's no way I could do all that.

LOL I guess I should clarify that I didn't actually stand in any of the lines to buy anything. Some of them were hours long! I just drifted around the store and chatted with people and marvelled at all the people who did stand in the long, long lines.

Lol.  That's what I did, too, when I went out on Black Friday.  :). It really was amazing!

I should add mine was nothing like that. It freaked me out enough to run and leap at a pole to grab it and swing around. Oh, here's the one I was trying to describe. But, my lower line was much higher than the duct tape.
