I stole from Carlos title on Friday. LOL. It is a beautiful, sunny Monday morning. I had to put two coats of stain/paint on my mother's death because it was so dry, but it' sucked. s s up the paint. I had a nice weekend with her, and we shall see what follows after our discussions. The house is so serene and peaceful with no children in it. I love it. I have lots of work this week, yoga three times or more, bunco with a new group coming up this weekend, and some "calm "with my daughter not here for the week. I will probably have lunch with my girlfriend again sometime this week as well. What are you all up to?

Oh my! I need to review what the automatic audio-typing puts in. It actually put in a bad word. :(

ROFL-I got a good laugh when I read Fresh's post this morning. I absolutely love that voice program!

I woke up at 4AM with my throat so sore on one side I am having trouble swallowing. My head is stuffy, my eyes are runny and I am pretty sure that I am having a terrible allergy attack. We have been working in the yard all weekend putting in a stone patio and I think all the time I spend in the grass has gotten to me.

My sister "surprised" us by showing up yesterday with her 3 grandkids for the week. (Yes week!) and my sister-in-law called this morning to say they would be here tomorrow for a few days. Ugg. I think I'm going to head to Fresh's house for some peace and quiet.

It is going to be near 100 today and we are trying to finish getting the brick layed today then I have to spend the evening at the ball field because this week is play-off week. I'm almost hoping they lose so I don't have to go anymore.

I seriously doubt I will get to the gym today. Or even tomorrow.

No baby yet from my daughter-in-law.

FSN - LOL!  The image of staining your mother's death is just priceless...  Cool

Karla, are you saying that houseguests showed up for an entire week unannounced?!?!?

I had a great weekend.  I got an early birthday gift - a new phone!  It's fancy schmancy and by the time I learn all of the features, it will probably be obsolete.  I also got some new earrings (which is kind of a big deal because I am allergic to most earrings - they have to be surgical steel or niobium.  DH found a lady on etsy who makes earrings with the niobium and it's awesome.)  I also got to talk to my mom Saturday and Sunday.  She's drugged but sounds pretty good.  And she started a Words with Friends game with me today so that's a good sign.

I'm actually off this entire week.  One client is away on vacation and the other is still on a break.  I'm planning to do a cardio workout this morning.  Probably a mix of things... I discovered that our satellite has a number of free on-demand exercise videos so I've been giving those a shot rather than entertaining myself.  A person gets tired of that!  I guess that's why people hire personal trainers.  Tongue Out

My eating has been atrocious... I have been giving myself a pass because of the stress with coming off the prednisone and my mom's surgery.  Aside from a couple of birthday celebrations that are planned, I'm going to start logging my food and exercise again.

Breakfast: Jimmy Dean sandwich

No idea on the rest of the day.  DH and I have been so uninspired for meals that we usually end up freezer and/or pantry diving.  Plus, it's been so hot and humid that cooking is that much less appealing.

Gym, yep. My sister is here for a week. My sister-in-law is arriving tomorrow (thank God she will be staying in a hotel!) and my brother will be here on Friday for an overnight stay on his way to visit his parent-in-laws. lol This is sibling drop in week around here!

You are a saint for hosting them.  I might have sent them off sweetly with directions to the nearest hotel OR booked myself into a posh hotel for the week.  Regardless, I could never tolerate someone just showing up like that.  Unbelievable.

Yeah, that typo about staining your mom's deck... Why are you doing it?  Could you hire someone?  You're just so busy!  We haven't stained our deck in years and have decided we just need to have it replaced. I'm just too lazy for this home ownership.

I had an early morning client, came home and did some painting, went to zumba and got a last minute call to see two other clients.  Crazy. We've been redoing my daughter's bathroom as a surprise. We're just doing a superficial makeover but it's hard to know where to stop.  This is a long time in coming since our house was built in 1987 and this hasn't been touched since then. At some point, we have to redo the bathrooms but I want to wait until she starts taking care of it, instead of treating it like a pig stye.

Wow--we have an open door for the most part for family but an unexpected visit with three grandkids would be too much!  Wishing you a minute of peace--maybe that's what the gym is for!

Have you tried bodyrock or zuzka light? They're pretty good as workouts go.  Glad to hear your mom is doing better.

We finally had my daughter's ears pierced. I read an article about lead/nickel allergies recently that was interesting. It said if you're exposed to trace amounts of it, your tendency for allergies is less than if you get it all at once. So, kids who've had braces injest small amounts of the metals and tend to be less allergic than those to get their ears pierced first because the amount of metal absorbed by the body is much greater.  My daughter had braces at a younger age and she's been (knock wood) fine so far.

FSN, I missed the dirty word...Karla, it's always kid free at my house. But enjoy your family...the older I get, the more I realize that, at leat or me, family is everything..Jean, the braces thingis interesting...I never wore them...my teeth are pretty naturally straight, and what isn't I think of as a charming quirk...Gymrat, glad your mom is doing better. It is hot here, but I love summer. I lifted today, then ran 2.5 miles, then played in the pool, and sat with my book...pretty near a perfect day.

I thought I responded to this last night but who knows.  I never wore braces either but both of my kids needed them. My daughter had them early, earlier than I thought she should, but she's thankful to have it over with well before high school.
