As I explained my daughter this morning that I was not, "feeling the love, "she reminded me of why she wants to find a location that she really enjoys. It's such a trade-off between making a good living and being comfortable, and finding something you love. Or, perhaps, you can combine the two of them. In my case, I did not. C'est la vie. I did a couple yoga classes this weekend and I am feeling the soreness all over my body. I am back to eating healthy, with green smoothies, and lots of vegetables. I have also been doing the lateral elliptical along with yoga. My daughter goes back to college at the edge and that the week so I'm a little sad, but I'm also little happy. My stepson started school today, so all weekend he worked on the project he was to work on all summer long. I'm glad he's going back to school, as well, so you can stop making 1 million messes in my house. What are you all up to?

What you and your daughter were talking about, making a good lving and finding a place you love, etc. is what I was talking about in the difference between our attitudes and what I found in Costa Rica.  We think we need a certain size house, a certain size car, fancy amenities to be happy and we don't.  It's about, as Jen used to say (so miss her on these boards), with the Landmark Forum that we make all the decisions that create our lives.  I've told my kids that these big McMansions that their friends are living in and Mercedes, BMWs, etc. don't make them happier. We have a smaller house, manageable cars so I can work at a job I enjoy, the hours I want and take the vacations we do.  As I said, I think we do our children a disservice when we let them think they need to have it all.

It's Monday.  I barely slept last night (was reading a book).  Power went out at work and there was just a lot of wasted time.  I went to an obstacle course training class yesterday at the parkour gym which was really fun, a great workout, except that it was just me and a few 14 year old or so boys. Yeah.  There has been a lot of buzz about this gym lately, with a new one opening up in Baltimore and people kept stopping by to visit. I'd tell the parents they should join in, too.  I told a couple of women that they make the classes accessible to everyone and that you don't have to try to keep up w/ the 14 year olds and the trainer said, "Yeah, only you're doing it."   Since I'm dropping rowing, I need to do some other sort of movement. I'm thinking of trying out capoeira next.

Oooooooo Ooooooo....... can you tell I am whining? I had dental work done today and I can't think straight. My face/teeth are so sore. I am such a dental wimp. I broke a piece off a tooth last week and when I went in to get it checked, he found an additional cracked tooth so I had them both fixed this morning. Ugg I feel like someone took an ice pick to me.

I may try to get in a few miles later today but for now I'm just sitting here feeling sorry for myself.

I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection.  My ENT is calling in antibiotics to get me through Burning Man.  *sigh*  When I get back, I have an appointment with my friend's ENT for a second opinion.  So tired of all of this.

My client showed up 90 minutes early today so I wasn't really prepared but I went ahead and trained her since she was already there.  No workout.  It's been tough enough to get the things done that I need done let alone exercise.  Frown

Ugh, I hope it feels better soon. I really hate that numb feeling.  Dentistry really hasn't seemed to come very far when you consider how much improved limb replacements are!

Ugh, but at least if you get antibiotics in time, you'll be fine by BM, right?  What a headache...literally (sorry I didn't make the pun intentionally but I'll keep it). Was there a miscommunication w/ your client, or did he/she just decide to show up early?

It'll get me through BM, at least.  I got some news today that explains a lot of this... my allergist ordered blood work to check my immune system levels.  They are practically non-existent.  That would be why I keep maintaining low grade infections.  The solution is an injection called pneumovac.  It's like an articfical immune system that is supposed to help stimulate your own immune system.

We had a miscommunication on time.

Is it something you've always had? Maybe you need to get a plastic bubble?  Even better, plastic bubblewrap.  How long does the shot last (can we call it the bubble shot)?

Karla, I am the same way about dental work...which is why I am 3 months overdue to see my dentist. Just a cleaning leaves my jaws sore for two days, and I know I have a few cavities that may turn into crowns and root canals. :(. Can't the dentist give you some pain meds? Yuck!

Gee, gymrat, what a giant pain in the a$$!  At least you have the antibiotics to get you through sounds the event sounds marvelous, but hot!  I thought of you as I looked at dd's stuffed animals that she says I can give to goodwill. If you were closer, I would just give them to you.  Enjoy!

Yes, I guess this is a, "first world problem."  But, I love my vacaCaron's where I can stay at a downtown hotel, go whale watching, and eat out at rice restaurants!  In my cognitive dissonance, I have intellectualized that power is choice, and the funds give me some choice.  C'est la vie.
