more bad Weather on Wednesday?

I think there is snow coming in today, after 60 degrees yesterday?!  There are these odd round formations of condensation on several of my windows because of the temperature changes.

I am physically drained after the "excitement" over my performance review and then having to pass a test (or be fired if you fail!)  Work today, perhaps I will start organizing my craft room for the upcoming quilt class (and project) that will engulf my time for the next month or so.  No linedancing tonight - ,my "partners" are both not feeling well.  :(  This weather has me in the dumps.

What are you all up to?

Congrats on passing Fresh. That must have been horribly stressful.

The storms rolled through in the wee hours but thankfully no damage here. I slept through most of it and got up feeling better. At least my throat doesn't feel like it is inside out. Shortly after I got up this morning the hospital called to say that FIL is loud, angry, and combative. They've put him in restraints. We are just going to stay away for a while until they call to say he is doing better. Grandaughter is on her way home from the hospital and is doing much better so this day is looking much better.

I don't know if I should try to get to the gym today or not. Maybe I'll just hit the treadmill and de-stress.

The temp is going to drop all day so I am thinking beef stew for dinner.

What kind of crafts do tyou do? I admire them but am not good at handy homemade things.

Karla that sounds awful. Is this the blind man? Do you suspect he will live? My father saw things and was visited by people that are already gone right before he died. It was from a protein or something they said. I am sorry hou are dealing with this as i know it is very bad to go through. Make sure you get some rest as it can be bad if you get run down. You should no t work out when you are sick like that as it does not do any good. Maybe just take a quiet walk to destress as that is what i do too.

I have not tried that linedancing but it looks fun. Do you go with the girls or with your spouse. I am thnkin of seeing if my sisters want to do it. I don't know if my husband would enjoy it. What do you think?

You sound like my husband when it comes to jobs. He's perpetually worried about being fired, despite always getting good reviews, promotions, etc.  Congrats on doing well...again (see the pattern?).

I'm on opposite weather patterns than others--super excited about the pending cold/snow and this warm weather is so depressing!  I had the most frustrating morning, woke up at 4am to drop my car off for service so it would be done when I finished w/ clients at 9, so I could go work out.  I called at 9, they couldn't find record of my car (had a 7am appointment) but that they were probably working on it and paperwork was elsewhere.  Was told they'd call in 10 mins to straighten it out. I finally called 45 mins and was told they'd call me ASAP. Half an hour later, they call to say the car will be done in 1 1/2 hrs. When I complained, they pushed it to 1 hr.  Meanwhile I'm sitting at work w/ nothing to do.  I show up in an hour, car not ready and it'll be another 15 minutes which drags out to 40 mins. Told I need new brake light that'll take 15 mins; 45 minutes later my car is ready.  So it's now past 12, no time for a work out, exhausted from being up a 4 am.  I'm so annoyed. Had they told me at 9 that they'd apologized for misplacing the paperwork and the car would be ready by noon, I wouldn't have wasted all morning sitting at work with nothing to do and then at their shop for over an hour.  They've lost a customer.

Sorry to hear about your FIL.  I can imagine it being difficult to take for someone who's independent-minded like he is but it makes it so much harder for you.  Glad your granddaughter is okay.  I must have missed what happened to her?  Maybe I was gone skiing.

FSN - being managed by fear is so non-productive..did anyone fail the test and get fired? Karla-if your FIL is near the end of his life,, I think you have to just support your husband in doing what he needs to do, even if it seems crazy or useless. On the list of top 10 hardest things I ever did was leaving my mother in the hospital the last time. I didn't know for sure it was the last time, but I w pretty sure we were her the end. Many of the choices I made other people might not have agreed with, but my choices were mine. Jean - if I told you to give up teaching and just enjoy skiing, you would tell me how much ou loved teaching...you know you would:). I see on CNN that there are tons of tornados in the US. Hope everyone is safe. We are having the 'January thaw' here -warm and rainy...I skipped the gym tonight..I needed to go in person to cancel m manicure appointment for Saturday because I do't have a phone number...I am going to Zakopana, which is some sort of mountain area - there is probably skiing, but I won't do that. Everyone tells me I should go there...another woman from the US is here for a month and she has organized a few things for us to do and this is one of them. On my own, this wouldn't be happening.

Jean - How frustrating about the car!  I just hate incompetance like that.  Really, how hard could it be to keep you informed?

FSN - Did you get your test results back yet?

Karla - I think you're doing the best thing... staying away from the hospital for now.  How's your hubby holding up?

Happy - What is it that you're doing this weekend?

I was off today but had a laser appointment.  Also did a workout this morning.  I didn't sleep enough but it was better quality sleep than it has been in some time.

I still have to login twice from the iPad to get in here. :( SJ, yes, it is negative to be managed by fear, but it is part of my nature. I was raised that way, and I guess it serves me well...that is why I am always over prepared for everything that is important to me. Jean, that car repair experience stinks! How absolutely annoying! I don't get why, in this economy, service does not seem to improve. Are we the country of slackers??? Kay, I do art quilting, digital scrap booking, and various other crafts like handmade cards (past), the air (decorative balls for lack of a better term, painting, etc.). I get bored, thoug, and move on to the next project. Karla, I am glad you Are feeling better. How stressful with all of the health issues in your family! So, I am looking at a new sewing machine. I've had the same, dependable machine for 37 years, and it's time...funny, but the main motivating factor is that I can't see the needle to thread it, and since the current machines have so many of these types of conveniences, I am just gonna do it before this class on Saturday. I hate having to wear the reading glasses just to thread the needle...no Linedancing tonight...both of my "partners" aren't feeling well. No, Kay, dh doesn't dance...it's such a shame, but, hey, he probably wishes that I liked running!

Yes, if I had to give up teaching skiing, I'd be sad, too.Laughing  As one instructor said this weekend, "My job is more fun that most people's vacations."  I'm feeling so much more comfortable with it, too.  In the beginning, I worried about every little thing but it's skiing, not surgery.

Did you ever read that Borroughs blog that Kel posted on FB about fear and contentment? I thought it was awesome.  It was too me and I'm working on just being content and not letting fear drive everything.  I was looking for it but can't find it yet. Kel, if you have it handy, could you post it above? I think it's appropriate for healthy living.
