Much to do Monday

Yowie Kabowie we have an ice storm watch for tomorrow. To me the only thing worse weather wise is a tornado warning. I have a bunch of stuff to get ready just in case. You never know if you are going to lose power or not. Ugg

It was so very nice here that I got out and ran/walked 7.5 miles on Saturday with the group. I felt great but was very sore all over yesterday so I did a light weight session and will probably just do some walking today if I make it to the gym. It feels so good to be back running again even though I still have to take it very easy.

I was supposed to see the endontist this morning for this messed up tooth but they called and cancelled my appointment because they got 7 inches of snow and parts of the interstate were shut because of accidents (it is 1.5 hours drive each way for me). So, I still have a very sore tooth but have no idea when I am going to be able to get to the endodontist to get it looked at.

What is everyone else up to?

I did cross fit today. It was cold, but moreso windy. I need to get a band to go around my ears so they don't ache all afternoon from now on. I have a few hats, but wearing a Detroit Lions hat in cowboy country isn't exactly a good idea, especially when I am already very shy... We did all legs today, squats, lunges and calf raises with a kettlebell for 30 minutes. My legs are jello! put a split pea and ham soup in the crock pot this morning, looking forward to it tonight!!

We are getting snow today...and it sounds like every day this week! Karla, I think tooth pain is the worst! Hope you can get in soon....Aryl, I like. Those headbands. That cover just your ears...like skiers wear. My mother was a knitter, so I have tons of hats and scarves...all styles, all colors. I try to make myself mix them up for variety. I went to the gym....my workouts are so predictable...3 minute bike warmup, lifting for chest/back, floor abs, ran 2 miles, 27:14. I made delicious pasta with cram of chicken soup, peas, carrots, mushrooms, onion, and shells...it is. Like my chicken pot pie without the potatoes or crust....I made upnthe recipe, which makesme feel so clever!

I am trying to keep the faith but feeling defeated.  After my back went out on Thursday, i stopped exercising.  The next day, my knee with the only patellofemoral displacement injury went wacky.  I can barely fit into my pants and it has me down as I can't seem to get out of this bad physical place.  I am looking for an exercise bike on craigslist.  I will start up pilates soon.  I can only guess that somehow the pilates is connected to my back injury.  It is good for me to loosen up all those muscles that are always so tight in my back but somehow it destabilized it?? is my guess.  For a good day and a half it was spasming especially when i tried to sit.

Anyway, I taped up my knee today and I am here at work trying to rally! I got another much better chair at work, that is helping.

Sorry to be bleh!!!!!  Trying to be positive! More snow headed our way, we are right on the interface of a system moving in tonight with either 2 or 12 inches depending on how it moves.

Cath you must live in the same part of the country I live in. We are expecting an ice storm or 7 inches of snow depending on how the storm moves. My area is right on the line.

Instead of pilates maybe it would be best to do some light stretching and body weight exercises for now until you are feeling better and able to move without pain.

Cath, as much as I love to workout, from a weight perspective, it is the food that makes the biggest difference. It is actually kind of shocking to me how few calories exercise burns...I run for 30 minutes and that is 200 calories....I can eat 200 calories in 30 seconds.....exercise gives me a tiny cushion for eating, changes my mindset about being healthy and using food for fuel, and relieves stress. But the eting (or not eating) is what makes my scale move....hope things start to be better for you.
