my feet are sore but happy on Thursday!

Yeeeehaaaaahhhh!  I went linedancing last night and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!  I love getting lost in the music while dancing.  Now, I am wondering if they make cowboy boots with the wonderful padding like in Born shoes.  My feet hurt this morning!

So, work today, lunch with my gf, and then pup training with a test.  :O  Wish me luck.  Then, if I stil have energy, dinner with dh. I feel a bit guilty that I don't want to have birthday dinner with my ss. Ok, it took him 4 years to finally follow my rule that when he enters the house, he has to say, "hi" to me which announces that he is IN the house.  What he wants to do is to quietly enter the house, go to his room, and shut the door.  He has been in our house for hours before we even knew that he was here. No respect.  No warmness from him towards me.  Even his grandmother (dh's mom) told me when I first met her, that she has never felt any warmness from him (nor from his mother.)  He lacks courtesy, and "forgets" all rules which is, what I think is, in part, a passive aggressive move on his end (like the time he just started wailing on the electric guitar with his amp minutes after I told him he wasn't allowed to do it for a couple hours because I was taking a test for work.)  Yes, I am aggravated over this, as I realize I just went on a VENT.

In any case, I had a wonderful time dancing last night.  I need to do that more often!

What are you all up to on this frigid morning?

Glad you had fun with the line dancing!  I can't imagine being in cowboy boots and dancing.  I love my crosstrainers too much.  What does your husband do about his son? You've had to deal w/ some serious issues w/ teen boys!  Good thing your daughter is so easy.

It snowed an inch of so and school was postponed two hours, plus they cancelled fitness class. I have to say I'm really happy about the cancellation. With all the ski/teaching, I don't get a day off during the week. I feel bad complaining because most instructors work full time (usually more than full time) during the week and then spend the weekend teaching. I think I'll spend the day cleaning the house and then resting. I have to get caught up on Top Chef!

Speaking of dancing in uncomfortable shoes, I am floored every time I see Lady Gaga (this was the third show I've attended).  She literally runs around stage and up and down stairs in these massive heels.  I am not sure I could do her show (aerobically) with regular trainers on.  She has crazy stamina.  My friend and I were discussing if she eats during the show or not.  She performs a solid 2.5 hours with virtually no breaks.  She sweats a LOT and I'd think she'd have to be doing gatorade or those runner gels at least.  It is so impressive.  This was her 4th show in 4 days.  I can kind of understand why a lot of performers end up with drug problems.  That kind of schedule requires superhuman energy.

FSN, sorry to hear about your son.  That is really frustrating.  Fwiw, my mom deals with similar issues with her husband's nieces and nephews.  Granted, they don't live with them but my mom gets hurt every time there's a family gathering and they don't even say hello.  I wonder if it's a generational thing.  Although, there is the moody introverted part of being a teenager as well.

Jean - Sounds like you need a rest.  Enjoy!

I got in pretty late last night and managed to sleep kind of late thanks to Ambien.  I took the kitty in for some blood work this morning.  The last test showed that he might be in the beginning stages of renal failure so we're hoping to have a definite yay or nay with this one.  I'm trying to stay very zen about it all given that I am going to lose him regardless but I'm struggling because he's my baby.  If I could, I would have him forever.

No workout for me today.  I've got one client this afternoon and will probably grocery shop this afternoon.  We're hosting a game night this weekend that has gotten unexpectedly large so we need supplies.

Breakfast: breakfast sandwich, latte

Lunch: veggies and tofu in peanut sauce

Dinner: southwest chicken ceasar salad

I can't walk in heels, let alone dance..never learned. I am was so cold walking home and I haven't gotten warm. Hot bath soon. FSN, my favorite food here is pierogis. The most different thing is that you can't eavesdrop because people are talking Polish. I went to the gym - 20 minute run, lifting for shoulders, bis tris, some floor abs on a bench. I felt good while doing it but I am sore now. Jean, a day off is not cleaning the house. Gymrat, game night sounds fun

Lady Gaga's shoes are pretty overwhelming.I can't imagine getting my foot into them, let along trying to walk or dance.

Yeah, it could be a teen thing. My kids don't always say hi when they come home or into the room. I have to say it to them first, sometimes pointedly.  It doesn't bother me really.  I forget basic manners like that, too, sometimes when I'm preoccupied. I'm probably slightly higher on the autistic spectrum than the average person and have to make an effort to remember stuff like that.

Frigid is right! It is supposed to get up the the 30s later this week and I can't wait. I hate hate hate winter.

I've been working on odds and ends all day for my mother and my Father-In-Law. They both have so much paperwork to fill out for various things and then I had the granddaughter all day so it takes me forever to get everything done. We are expecting a few inches of snow this evening and I have had such a busy day I am about to just curl up by the fire with a book.

I did get a few miles in at the gym today but didn't get to any weights. I was waiting for my daughter to get out of dance and I ran out of time.
