Yea!  A fresh start.  At least, that's how I am viewing the new year approaching.  It's a beautiful, sunny day, despite the -0 windchill temperature out there.  :O  I am coming off a family reunion "high" as I continue my no-work vacation until Thursday.  I am going to yoga this morning, have some errands to run, and then a doctor's appointment this afternoon.  I am incredibly blessed for everything before me, and I need to stay focused on that!

How are all of you, and was Santa good to you this year?  I have been incredibly blessed with my health (knock on wood), and I pray for continued health!

I think this may have been the longest holiday season ever...  I was on my way home Friday from the doc where they diagnosed me with a second or a "new and improved" version of the first sinus infection.  The car in front of me stopped suddenly to avoid a piece of tire in the road and I had to slam on my brakes.  For reasons we still do not understand, my car fishtailed left and right until it forced another car off the road.  I was not injured and the other party went to the hospital with an arm injury.  Given that it was a full speed collison on the freeway, I am extremely thankful that things ended the way they did.  I am going to be car-less for a while as there was fairly extensive damage to my car.

So...  I'm training this afternoon and she is coming to my house.  I also got a recurring gig writing for a physical therapy practice in NY so I've got to work on that this week.  I may do a light cardio workout today.  Not sure yet.

Fresh I am so glad to hear you are having a peaceful and relaxing vacation! Gym, I saw about your wreck and am so thankful with you that no one was seriously hurt.

I am so glad the holidays are almost over. I want to get back to my normal chaos. This chaotic chaos is too much for me. I have done a lot of weight lifting in the last week and am going to jump on the eliptical today. My next appt with the podiatrist is Jan 6 so I am trying to not do any running until then. Now that things feel much better I am itching to get back out. I can tell, however, that I am not totally healed as I have a lot of tightness and some aching in my leg now from my calf to heel. I never noticed it before but maybe now that the stabbing pain and swelling are gone from my foot my mind is now focused on other things. lol

I need a good book to read. What is anyone else reading right now?

How life-flashing-before-your-eyes scary!  Glad you're okay.  What a way to finish the year!  Your sinus infections have more lives than a cat.  Maybe they expired in 2013.Tongue Out

I'm back, btw. Have I posted since? I've been super busy doing nothing.  Honestly, I'm trying to place what happened the past week.  Puppy, skiing, Christmas.  I think the next two months will be just puppy, daughter, skiing.  I hope to get in parkour and silks but right now, I'm happy to lie on the couch!  Happy New Year!

FSN, glad you enjoyed yor family and are looking forward to the new year! Gymrat, OMG, that is so scary...glad you were not hurt...hopefully staying home will help you get healthy. Karla, chaotic chaos is worse than regular chaos....I haven't read it, but the movie 'Philomena' is based on a book that sounds good. I am re-reading Dick Francis mysteries....they are light and engaging....Jean, welcome back to your own coach! I had a good Christmas...my sister in law's father was ill and I got a 'battlefield promotion' and was in charge of The Christmas Eve celebration....which went well. And I seem to be out of my funk...I went to the gym tonight and lifted for chest and back and ran two miles.

GR, I am so thankful that the car is the "thing" that is damaged.  Count your blessings!  I have been in a few bad accidents when I thought "my time was up" and it really shook me up!  The bad part is that it is probably those accidents that made my spine in bad alignment that caused the pinched nerve in my shoulder!

Take it easy and count your blessings!

Oh Karla, how horrible for your injury.  :(  Good for you for staying focused on what you CAN do!  It sounds like you hold the serenity prayer close at heart.  :)  Pain in the foot that I broke a few years back still plagues me, today, even after wearing a pair of high heels for only one day.

I am too practical with my reading.  The last two books I read were, "Proof of Heaven" and "Quantum Wellness Cleanse."  I have started a couple books from Augustun Burroughs and Crichton of late, but I couldn't get through them.
