I got nothing guys...  Sorry.  Did cardio this morning and am seeing Ender's Game tonight.  I finished the book yesterday.  The concept was interesting but I couldn't really get into the book.  I enjoy sci-fi movies (sometimes) but don't care much to read it.

The writing is going fairly well.  I got some fun assignments.  I applied for a job with a humor website and the managing editor of the site called me last week to tell me my cover letter was the funniest letter he's ever seen and can he pay me to publish it....  Ummm...  yeah!  They also want me to write for them so I submitted something this morning. It's a website that features true stories and funny pictures or videos.  I love writing humor but a lot of freelance writing is very dry and very boring.  So, if I can supplement the dry boring stuff with fun stuff, that will be gravy.  I'm still working on getting accepted to a few other sites.

I don't know if I told you all but I'm biting the bullet and getting allergy shots.  I go for my scratch test on Thursday.  I have to go into the office for the magic injection every two weeks anyway and while I'll have to go in more frequently for the allergy shots (1x or 2x a week) so I'm just going to accept this as part of my life for now.  In the meantime, I've been off anti-histamines since Sunday and it's kind of hard.  It's not as bad as the last time I did it, but still not fun.  I'll survive though.

lol on the clever word. I've been too busy today to get here until now. My sister's mother-in-law died yesterday so I am going to be tied up with family things the next few days. Her mother-in-law lived not far from where I live so everyone is coming in starting this evening.

Gym your writing career is fascinating! I can't imaging writing a cover letter so great someone wants to publish it. I struggle horribly with cover letters.

Today is a rest day for me. I have a blister (from new dress shoes) that was aggravated by my 7 mile run on Sunday so I need to let it heal before it turns into a horrible sore. My feet are so sensitive that I have to be very careful with socks to make sure they don't rub wrong. Ugg

I'm looking at a 8K race for next month. I've never done an 8K run event and it is a very challenging course (hills) so I am thinking about giving it a try. I have decided to stop even thinking about the weather. I am just going to make plans and stick to them come hail or high water. ;-)

Good for you on the race!

Have you tried moleskin on your blisters?  I am the Blister Queen and always have some at home.  It's wonderful.

I have but I don't keep it handy. In fact, I need to add that to my shopping list. I don't want this blister ruining the rest of the week for me.

I love your wit and humor, GR... you have a fun way of looking at things.  I am just dry, dry, dry.  Karla, dh uses a lot of Vaseline and Nu-Skin and Glide (?) for marathon training/running On any and all areas that "rub."

this gloomy weather is making me want to sleep.  I learned that one of my customers has been hospitalized for the second time.  He has been so good to me...I feel really sad...so many of my customers have been almost fatherly to me.  :(. I don't know if he is going to make it.  :(. I have to make a business plan tonight, so I am not sure if I am going to get out of the house for a workout, although I probably should.  I DID go to early morning yoga, but it wouldn't be bad to go again, or to at least train the pup a little bit.

I love how your writing career is taking off! Is it something you've always wanted to do?  I used to want to be a writer/journalist but my parents were too practical to pay for a degree in either for me.

Yikes, I'm wiped about by puppy and need to learn that it's okay for her to yip (same problem I had w/ my kids).  I'm up every couple of hours at night. At least she'e mellow during the day and sleeps a lot.  It takes me effort to get her to romp around but I think she's still getting used to being here.  I'm still floored how I went in wanting a medium size dog, older, that I could run with and ended up w/ a puppy chihuahua mix. I'm going to feel so safe running w/ her!

I met up w/ a couple of friends and did parkour/conditioning outside today. I'm thinking it must be a sight old women trying to run over rails and all.  If we were good, it would be one thing but I think this looks like we're acting.  OTOH, I realized that the basement walk up we had put in is the perfect place to do parkour. I've been doing jumps at the taller side and wall runs when it's steeper.  I can run up something taller than myself now--that's running at the wall, leap so your foot hits it and then grabbing the wall above and pulling yourself up and over.  When I told my daughter I was going out to practice in the backyard and that she should call 911 if she hears a loud scream, she said, "Mom???"

Ow, I never wear dress shoes because of that. I decided I could run or wear dress shoes and running won out.  Have you tried body glude? It works wonders in preventing blisters.  Not as helpful in dress shoes when you're not expecting them.  I must have feet of steel at this point. I've gotten blisters that have become bloody and popped and only realized it when I take off my shoes and see my socks stuck to my feet, after a long run. When I was rowing, I wore these new shoesa nd my heels got huge blisters that popped and it was a raw area in the back and stayed that way. Okay, I'll stop w/ the gory stories now.

I think everyone on this board has a great sense of humor...jean, I laughed out loud about 'Mom'....my family's approach to life is 'if I survive this, my family will love this story'. It makes everything easier...Gymrat, your writing career is fascinating. I never wondered who wrote all the stuff that is published on line...Karla, yikes on the blister. I have no advice, just yikes...FSN, I had two naps Sunday and slept through most of the tv I watched last might...something about the time change has me thrown off. My voice is marginally back...I went to the gym and lifted, but again passed on cardio...I got home earlier and that was nice.
