Rain Rain GO AWAY

Grandma Karla wants to play! Grrrr. I didn't make it to the gym yesterday and only managed to squeeze in 3 miles between storms. We have flash flood warnings and much of the area where I walk is along a creek and near a pond so I've had to completely redo my route. It is supposed to continue to rain here for days and now I am wonder if we are going to get to have a big 4th of July party or not. We may have to settle for bbq and Apples to Apples vs a cook out with horseshoes and fireworks.

Gym, I've been reading about those firefighters and I can't even begin to imagine what how horrifying their last few moments must have been. Can you see the smoke from your home? I saw that picture on FB and wondered if that was your back porch. I live so close to a state park that if it ever got dry and caught on fire my house would be toast. Thankfully it rarely ever gets real dry here.

Yep, that picture was my from backyard.  We are quite a ways from the fires but the smoke is drifting down towards Phoenix.  There's a definite haze that is settling over the city.  We are in the desert so thankfully, there's not much that could catch fire near us but the parts of Arizona that are forested always struggle with wildfires in the summer.  We don't have earthquakes or tornados so it's a small trade-off, I suppose.

No PT work for me today.  I've got an appointment at the podiatrist and then I'm heading down to OP's.  DH is going backpacking this weekend so I'm looking forward to alone time.  He and his group have had to change locations multiple times in order to go somewhere cooler and get away from the fires.  I have absolutely no plans for July 4th.  I do not mind being alone that day although it seems like a day you should be socializing.  I am on kitty duty while he's gone although I did get a kitty sitter for Friday night.  My best friend and I are planning a day of decadence - mani/pedi, wine bar, and steak dinner.  Cool

I'm doing a step workout this morning.

The fire tragedy is so sad. I can't imagine the dryness with all of the rain in the Midwest. The small lakes in the area are totally flooded. I worked with my young, green manager today. It's really hard to be lectured by someone almost half your age, wino lacks in positive motivational abilities. Oh well. I am exhausted tonight, so I will wait for yoga until tomorrow. I am aggravated with DH who gives me NO emotional support. He seems to think I am. Rock/pillar of strength and it's really pissing me off right now. And his glorification of his son is making me sick. How's that for frankness? I'm saying it here because verbalizing it to him would do great harm...but it is the truth. I take dd to a photo shoot this weekend. Gymrat, I am so glad that you are getting back to normal! I didn't like the prednisone either. Karla, how is newborn grandmother hood?

Isn't it too bad we can't get the water where we need it to put out fires? Karla, hope the baby is doing well...I like them after a few months when they can d o cute baby tricks, but I remember the falling in love feeling I had with my. Nephews too...FSN, you know your husband will never change, right? Gymrat, h I love self indulgent days...you go girl...
