Ready to go Friday

We still have a heat wave but the worst of it was supposed to be yesterday.  I don't know if it's all the race training I've done in the summers but it didn't feel bad to be rowing in the 100 degree weather.  I did step class and rowed for two hours yesterday and actually got to row the whole time.  I don't feel like it's a real workout yet but it's good movement.  I'm planning to go to parkour but the other couple of women are on vacation today and I don't want to be the only one in class, plus it's not air conditioned.  If not, I'll go to zumba which would be easy.

I always forget there are places in this country that do not have air conditioning...  I guess I take it for granted.

Doing some type of strength workout this morning (don't know what yet).  I will probably need to run some errands and maybe test drive the truck/trailer so I can get my bearings before the long trip next month.

My mom is going home today!  She's pretty excited.

Hmm, I responded but I guess it never posted. This area is mostly air conditioned, too. but the parkour gym is in a warehouse and isn't. It can get pretty gross in it.  That's why zumba would be easy--air conditioned gym, free.  BTW, a new phase of the gym opened and it's huge. Cavernous huge, all that I hate in gyms. And, that doesn't include the pools which need to open.  Too many people, too much of everything. It's all very pretty and nice but not my thing.

I think not having air conditioning should be a Outlot. There is no way I would go anywhere without air conditioning. The amount of sweating that I do with menopause hot flashes just kills me. Work today yoga tonight bunco tonight. Work is heating up and I'm gonna make a couple calls to inquire about this job. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It would be nice to have an environment where your hard work it's appreciated. It's amazing to me that I won the national word two years in a row, and yet my new manager just thinks I'm a slacker. Of course, it is in my power to not give him the power over me to judge me. It's just hard when other people keep on being recognized and everything I do is overlooked. It's blatant, and the people that are important to me to see it as well. Egos, narcissism, low self-esteem is an annoying issue to deal with in the political arena of corporate America. C'est la vie. I want to have fun. :)

Hello girls. I am in such a bad mood! I got woke up at the crack of dawn from howling cats after being up half the night with my granddaughter (she has leg spasms and was miserable last night). When I went to discover what the howling was about, I saw a stray cat sprawled out on my new lawn furniture on the back porch. My indoor cats were going crazy over it. I ran out the door to chase it off and stepped in cat poop. Ugg. Not a great way to start a day.

I have to work tonight so I am going to try to get a few miles in before I head out. It's seriously hot still so I may wind up on the treadmill at the gym.

I really need to get out of this mood!

LOL, an outlot? The heat wasn't bad, surprisingly. I was dripping sweat but it was really fun at parkour. I love this instructor, he even fixed my shoulder after class.  The more time I spend there, the more I like the people. It's not a conventional group and they're always doing super fun, spontaneous things. I asked the instructor if he'd want to teach snowboarding because he'd be an excellent instructor and he said, "Sure, that would be great. I'm in!" I'm so not spontaneous like that. I think it took me 4-5 years from being told I should do it to actually doing it.

Sorry to hear, Karla!  Not getting sleep is tough.  Hope your granddaughter is better.  Poor thing!

I'm in! I love the cape, especially since you'll let me do all the rowing.  I've actually never been to the Cape in the summer. I've been a few times in the off season but can't ever remember being on the beach there. Maybe when I was really young w/ my parents?  Have a great weekend!

Maybe we should have a meet up? Some people's image of the Cape is touristy and traffic, and that is a part of it, but it is so beautiful, and there is the beach, 365 lakes and ponds, nature reserves for hiking, a 25 mile bike trail that goes from the mid cape down...used to be the railroad bed...plus great restaurants, cute gift shops, good theater and music....the birds wake me with their singing...on a different note, FSN, on the 'Common Healty Problems/Menapause' there is a new thread about HRT. I can't copy links on my IPAD, (well, I probably could, I just am too lazy to find out how). It is featured on the Home page at this minute but it might move off and I thought you might like it.
