Ready to rest on Monday!

Whew, it's been a busy weekend!  We decided we'd update my daughter's bathroom while she's gone as a surprise.  She wants a tiffany blue color bathroom.  Hers was dated, the toilet wobbly so it's a much needed project. We relaid the floor (if you're not handy and want a new floor, check out traffic master allure--so easy!), painted the cabinet, put in a new top, toilet, painted. I've bought all new fixtures. The hold up is going to be the lighting and mirror. I know my husband is dragging his feet on it because he doesn't want to do it and we're getting near the end. I'm feeling like one of those design shows where you only have a limited time. Only, my husband had time for golf, rowing, watching TV, so he's obviously feeling no pressure!  I've done everything I can, with a final coat of paint this morning.

I finally ran yesterday, about 3 miles, and then did a kickboxing class which felt really good.  My ankle is so much better when I keep moving it but it's so painful to start.  It's hard to get going when you know the first mile is going to feel like someone is pounding on your bone w/ a hammer,  I'm not sure what I"ll be doing today as workouts go. We'll see how the bathroom is.  The place I normally do silks isn't air conditioned and it's a killer in this weather. Parkour is fine but when you're sweaty, you stick to the silk and I get caught all the time.

How were your weekends?  FSN and GR, how are your moms?  Karla, enjoying the new baby?  SJ, how was the beach?  Do you have a special place you go down there?

My weekend was lovely.  We saw one of my favorite comedians Friday evening and it was a great show.  Saturday, we watched movies and hung out.  Yesterday, we did a rum class at a posh hotel and then had my "official" birthday dinner there afterward.  I'm a bit worse for wear today though.  Cool

I've got a client this morning and probably doing a Costco run this afternoon with hubby.  I started a new workout video series called Beast.  It's a Beachbody program.  I'm enjoying it.  I think I just need a sustained break from creating my own workouts.  After yesterday's "Quadzilla" workout, I HURT.

My mom is doing well.  She came home on Friday.  She's keeping up with doctor's orders and clean living so far.  I'm very proud of her.

Jean, what a nice surprise for your daughter.  And I can relate on the husband procrastination thing - he and I have very different schedules for things.  It gets frustrating... especially for things that are going to affect me.

My, both of you ladies have fun filled weekend, didn't you? Jean, you're such a sweet mother to redo your daughters bathroom.

And GenRad, as always, it seems like you really know how to enjoy life. I am learning from you. My daughter got home after being on vacation with her father's family for the last week. I really missed her. But now, I have to go to another state for business meeting and then my family is meeting me for three days of vacation. I've got it all planned out... Dinner reservations at some nice restaurants, renting waverunners, zip lining, and even a Hands-on cooking class with a four course meal. Plus, there is tons of shopping, so my daughter will be thrilled. This weekend was great, with three yoga classes and a nice outing with a bunch of great ladies.DH And I are having a little anxious over blended family issues.DH wants my ex to move my daughter into her apartment before school, but my ex really is last-minute and frugal and won't help my daughter get comfortable in her new place. So I think I'm going to suck it up and move her in as I'm sure I will move her out and do all of the legwork. I think it's the right thing to do, even though I know I'll end up spending so much more money on her than her dad. I think I should just let go of the money aspect of it, because I feel like it puts her in the middle. So, I have work today, drive to a meeting out-of-state, watch a baseball game which is like watching paint dry, so I talked one of the ladies into walking laps around the stadium with me For a low cardio workout. Meetings tomorrow followed by work, and then I start a three-day vacation. YEA!

I had an extremely busy weekend too with family. Jean, your bathroom remodeling sounds great. We need to do both our bathrooms. Our back bath is the only room in the house that has never been remodeled.

My new granddaughter is doing fine. She has a touch of jaundice so is going to the doc today. My new grandson does nothing but sleep. lol They say he can really cry but I have seen him every single day and have yet to hear him cry.

I did cross fit yesterday and my glutes are feeling it today. It's a good sore though. My sister is doing a dirty girls mud run in August and wants me to do it with her. If I don't have to work that weekend, I may give it a try. It looks like a lot of fun.

I have to work tonight but it is going to rain so at least I have something to do.

What did your daughter decide to do?

My daughter has decided to go back to school. She told my husband that's because she doesn't want to hear her dad yell at her. Whatever her reasons are, I'm glad she's going back. I only hope that her mental state is stable enough specialty well. She didn't do so well her second semester, but I don't know how much of that has to do with the boyfriend. The boyfriend is not going back because he got kicked out for bad grades.

Looked like a fun rum party, GenRad.  Wink  I didn't know hotels did things like that. I might look into something like that.  I'll have to check out Beast. Not that I'm doing anything like that these days but it's fun to get ideas.

Both of my kids had jaundice. I remember driving around to find sunshine--much easier in Va in the summer than Monterey where it was foggy the whole time!

I'm glad she made a decision that works for everyone. I agree w/ what you said about letting the money go.  In the long run, it's her mental health that's important and she doesn't need to deal w/ that. It's always important, imo, to teach them about the value of money but whether it comes from you or your husband shouldn't be the factor for her.  She'll appreciate it.

Genrad, I want to take a rum class...FSN, I am glad your daughter decided to take any class....Jean, glad you ran. I hate the first five minutes of every run, until I get my body convinced we are really doing it...Karla, of ourse your grandson doesn't cry when you are there. I bet Quenn Eluzabeth will be saying that her new grandson doesn't cry when she's around...I am having a 'scavenge for food' day when all I want to do is eat...I hate these days. I lifted for check and back, did abs, swam 60 laps...so at least I worked out.

We need a GenRad rum class! Yeah, the first five minutes of every run is painful so I should keep that in mind when my ankle is hurting. I'm not noticing the other pains as much!
