I went to silks yesterday but not to parkour. Clients ran over and I decdied it was too hectic. The problem w/ the Wed class is that they're far away and it's a half hour hike. I'm really enjoying aerial silks these days!  When I started, there were all these women/men who seemed so advanced. The instructors would show them a new move and they'd be talked through it easily. And, I realized yesterday, when there was a new woman there, that I'm like that now!  I'm getting moves much more easily and I can do enough tricks that I don't have time to practice them all during a session.  It's still pure brute force and no prettiness but it's what I can do!  My daughter went w/ me yesterday and she's the total opposite. She has no strength but anything she does looks good, w/ pointed toes, splits, etc.

I'm teaching a ball class today.  It used to be step but we changed it so every other week is just a fun different class, whatever I want to teach.

My shoulder hurts just thinking about silks!  So, the Pa and physician at my chiropractor's office is giving me shots in my neck and shoulder.  The pro is that the pain goes away, but the con is that when the pain comes back, I am more agitated.  :O. That want me to do 3 times a week, which is a bit difficult with my schedule.  We shall see.  It's a non-crackling-sound adjustment suing a pro-adjustor, physical therapy to lengthen and open up the compressed disc areas, an a injection to relax the muscle spasm, and some massage.  I taught my friend Linedancing while she fed me non-cleanse/healthy food...stuffed chicken, green curry, pork cracklings (just to tast), dessert, and I brought the wine.  She says I don't eat enough.  Hhhhmmmmmm.  Yes I do, my cholesterol shows it.  I forgot to post yesterday because of tons of work, Linedancing, AND fitting in the chiro appointment.

karla, I hate the treadmill, and, when I used to try to run, it KILLED my joints.  EL, I love kayaking.  I tried it around some small island off the coast of Florida...saw dolphins ana various other wildlife...it was beautiful, and it is quite a workout.  Ok, more work.  Make it a great day!

And that, Jean, is why I sent the t-shirt I sent.  :)

FSN, good luck with your shoulder.  I'm hoping all that works.

No clients today but I have some writing to do.  I have an eletrolysis appointment this morning followed by a magic injection.  I only have to sit there for an hour today so that seems like nothing.  Not sure what else I'll do.  I've been kind of moody the last couple of days so I may just take it easy this afternoon.

I've only tried kayaking once and I was not good at it. lol Hubby and I used to take the kids canoeing often years ago but he blew out his shoulder so we haven't been in ages.

Jean, I love that feeling of realizing that suddenly you are one of those woman that everyone else doesn't think they will ever be. And the treadmill I am using is at the gym. Supposedly they are good ones but I do get joint pain from them so I don't know. Maybe I am getting old and my body is too sensitive. LOL

Gym, the wait for word on the writing situation would drive me crazy. Is there anyone you can call and pester?

It's very cold and rainy here again. I've got black beans in the crock pot and I think I'll throw some rice and smoked sausage in with them when they are done.

Not sure what I am doing for exercise today. I don't want to run in the rain. Maybe I will jump on the eliptical this evening.

Good luck w/ the shoulder. There is some torquing w/ silks and my shoulder so I try to avoid moves that I think will hurt it but I can't really tell until the next day.  I deal with it. I'd rather do that than limit my fun activities.

What are you eating on a daily basis?  Do you know how many calories?

LOL, I was Wonder Woman at parkour on Sunday!  We were doing carriocas, which is up my alley.  The instructor joked, "Anyone who can shimmy when they do carrioca wins $5!"  Yeah, I do zumba, I can shimmy, and better than young parkour guys who can't even begin doing it.  I think I embarassed my son, though.  I almost make a joke about being able to twerk at the same time but decided to spare him.

Black beans and sausage sounds really good. I'm going to have to get stuff for that, for our next chilly day.

Even if I had the desire, I couldn't. My hips just don't move like that.

I am in the 'love kayaking' club...so peaceful and a great workout. I feel about lifting like Jean feels about silks. If I work out at a different time of day, I see different people, and sometimes someone will finish with something we are moving to. They will say to my trainer 'oh, I'll take the weight off' and he says 'that's OK, I have to add for her' ....makes me smile every time...I don't understand tweaking....typical Thursday here....lifting for shoulders, bis, tris, ran 2 miles..

Karla and Jean, yes, it's wonderful to progress in something. I am still amazed with some of the progress I have made in yoga. I remember laughing when I started, thinking there was no way I could do some poses. Now, I sometimes hear others in disbelief of some of the poses that some of "us" can do. Yea! Progress!
