Readying for vacation Thursday

Whew, I'm so unprepared for my ski vacation/trip. I'm working tomorrow AM and then heading up north to NY for the weekend for my level 1 ski instructor test, over to Killington Sunday for a week of clinics and then my family will join me for a few days. I'm going to have to learn to pace it. I'm used to only getting in a couple of days at a time and going all out and this will be 12 days in a row.

I'm teaching step this morning then dance conditioning tonight, in addition to packing for my ski trip and finishing up for Christmas.  I'm going to have the girls play bosu baseball. Tell me if this is too confusing.  To minimize time waiting, I'll have three teams, two fielding, one at bat.  Batters are on balls and have to hippity hop to bases. They bat w/ body bar.  Ball will be a ballast ball w/ sand (so pitcher uses core and rotation).  Girls fielding have to do V sit when staying still and can move only by crab walk. They have to kick the ball to tag the runner out.  On base, they have to do crunches or can be tagged out.  Finally, the final stretch from 4rd base to home will be ballast balls lined up so they slide across the ballast balls to go home (body surfing--it's so much fun across the balls).  Girls waiting to bat will do BOSU drills.

I was sick as a dog yesterday. There is a terrible stomach bug going around my town and now half my relatives and friends have it. ugg. The worse of it only seems to last about 24 hours.

The bosu baseball sounds fun.I wish my gym had a more creative trainer/class leader in charge. I would love to try out some different things.

Wow, Jean.  You never cease to amaze me with your fresh attitude and creativity.  Everyone around you is lucky to have such a go-getter around them!  The game sounds wonderful, as does your trip. Enjoy every moment of it!

I haven't been around because work has been crazy busy, so I only had access to my iPad, and it's just too dang annoying to access this site with my iPad.  So, we had a regional meeting Monday AM, I worked, then a retirement party (they are closing a local office so everyone there is losing their job).  Lots of political maneuvering and conflict since we have new leadership.  My new manager spontaneously asked to work with me the next day, so I had that, along with some meetings, and then I took some customers out to a new linedance venue which, as always, was so much fun!  Yesterday, my coworker miscommunicated the time of an early morning meeting so I had to rush out the door.  Next week, I have court, and, now, I have three lawyers banging on my door for money.  GEEZ.  I would like to run away from home with dog and husband in tow.  :P

I opted out of one party this weekend, and I am thinking of opting out of a second party.  My family is coming in next weekend, and with the stress of court next week, it may be too much for me to go socialize and put on a happy face...or maybe it would be fun. I will be spontaneous at the last minute. :)

Karla, the positive side is that you are sick NOW, and not for xmas.  Hopefully, I will not be sick for xmas, as there is way too much I have to do!

I had one client this morning and then another laser appointment.  I have not been sleeping well and I realized today that I just feel exhausted so I cancelled my work appointment in the afternoon.  Rest day for me and just hung out with the kitties.  :)

Ugh, sorry to hear about the bug.  Hope it blows over quickly.

Whew, you always have a lot going on.  I opt out of any party I don't want to go to--I figure there's so much I have to do these days that my social life should be filled w/ want to and not have to.  Good call on backing out on some.

The baseball was fun but not as much work as it should have been. There is little way to enforce the girls to do v sit, etc.  It would probably be a fun game and good workout w/ the right crowd.

Laser appointment sounds so star wars.  Does it hurt? Oh, what's it for? I was thinking electrolysis.

Ha! Star wars... I'm doing laser on my underarms and calves and electrolysis on my eyebrows. The electrolysis is quite painful but I broke out every time I got my brows waxed and I got tired of that. Pain from laser depends on the age of the machine, I think. I'm doing the underarms laser at the same place where I'm doing the eyebrows and their machine kind of hurts (and I think it's kind of old). I'm doing the lower legs at a newer place with newer equipment and it doesn't really hurt at all.

My daughter breaks out with waxing, too.  I couldn't figure out what was causing it. She just hates to be seen after.  Is electrolysis far worst pain than tweezing?  I don't know if I could be bothered but permanent is a good thing.

I tried hard wax, soft wax, skipping the post-wax lotion... nothing really worked. Electrolysis is significantly more painful than tweezing BUT knowing that it's a short term discomfort for a long term convenience makes it worth it.
