Rounding into Spring Tuesday

It's hard for me to admit and with the cooler weather right now, I can be in denial.  I'm heading out tomorrow for 8 days of skiing. I am so excited!  I'll be spending four days at Whiteface with other instructors and then four days at Stratton with my family.  I still have no idea how to pack but I want to bring everything!  I think I'll catch a step class this morning--the first almost cardio class I've done in a while. Tuesdays are the worst as workouts go because there's little out there I want to do and there is no zumba at the only place I'll do zumba.  I need to figure something out for spring since I'm no longer teaching skiing.

Didn't sleep great last night.  Without getting too graphic, surgery remnants "break free" and decide to escape in the middle of night causing me to wake up feeling super congested and blowing my nose in a very alarming but mostly non-productive way.  Between that and the constant barrage of antibiotics that has finally wreaked havoc on my lady garden, it wasn't a good night.

I was intending to work out but have decided to forgo that.  I've got one client this morning (my friend-client who is deciding if she wants to renew tomorrow - I'm okay either way) and then we're going to see Oz at the movies tonight.

I survived the Brazilian Blowout.  I had heard horror stories about the process but it wasn't bad at all.  My hair feels and looks like doll hair (good doll hair - not bad doll hair).  It is super smooth and shiny.  The real test will be after I wash it and style it myself.  This is supposed to make that easier but we will see.

Arg-it doesn't feel like spring here and the weather forcast is even gloomier! I actually hauled in a load of firewood this morning to get prepared for the rest of the week.

My legs are so sore from cross-fit last night. Part of the workout jump squats in each round. The whole class was one of the easier ones I've tried so I am surprised at how sore I am today.

Oh I don't envy you at all! How long do they think the whole healing process will be?

I'm glad you survived your hair treatment. My hair has been so flat and lifeless lately I have honestly been thinking about getting a body wave. lol Come on girls- talk me out of it! I am always sorry about it but I can't seem to stop myself.

Sorry to hear about post surgery break out escapees.  Hope it'll be short lived.  I've always said the person who figures out how to dissolve mucous safely is going to be rich.  I just looked up the Brazilian blow out. Have you thought of the Japanese straightening? My friend loved it.  OTOH, I used to pay a fortune to get perms so it blows my mind that people straighten curly hair.

I've heard body waves have come a long way since the 80's!  It used to fry my hair.  Maybe you should just go for it and get a spiral perm!Wink

It apparently varies person to person.  My best friend said it might take a few months.

Get a wave!  Why not?  It's only hair.  :)

I had never heard of the Japanese straightening so I looked it up and it's the same thing as the keratin treatment (which I have heard of).  The downside with that one is that you can't wash your hair for 3 days afterward and that would drive me nuts.  I also think application takes long and the end result doesn't last as long.

Hey everyone :)  I tried to find my reply to all - but I'm not seeing it... so this is to everyone. Tuesdays are my bad day, too!  I totally feel you on the Zumba thing, in most cases its way too slow/easy for me to say it was a workout.  Only once have I had a sweaty good time at Zumba.  You know what else bugs me is that they teach their arms weird.

Anyhoooo...  I logged some time on the stairmaster, but I need to do something else today.  I might try and pop into the last half of hilo after I teach my pilates class tonight.  Otherwise it'll me and the treadmill.  blah.  Its snowing like crazy here and FREEZING.

Silky doll hair sounds awesome!  I want that.  I have always wanted to be able to brush my hair like other people.  I dont even own a brush, do you?  I hope you get some sleep tonight, too.. that doesnt sound fun. All this talk of perms :D  I love it!  I remember sitting for hours with my girlfriends as they got those spiral perms.

I'm off to classes... brrrrr

This is my Zumba place. The guy in front used to be the hip hop dance teacher for a really good dance studio in this area. Both the guys are world aerobics champions. They've said their stuff isn't really zumba but much more choreographes. They're just a lot of fun.

This is my favorite. It's so cute to do.

Good Zumba makes me feel like I could actually die..bad Zumba makes me want to kill someone:). The instructor in Krakow was awesome...in one of the dances, we did pushups, but moved our feet in a circle so it was like a turn. She incorporated lunges but your arms were like you were playing a violin..it was so pretty...the Zumba at my Boston gym does not appeal to me...it isn't intense and it isn't pretty...and other people seem like they are enjoying it, which I find strangely annoying. We had snow, sleet, hail, and rain today...I am going to Florida tomorrow and I am so looking forward to sunshine. I always have trouble packing for warm weather when it is snowing...I went to the gym today...five minutes on bike, lifting for legs, then abs. I need more cardio, but that isn't happening until April.
