Rushing out on Tuesday...

On to my post-ski workouts. I just noticed my gym added a new step class on Tuesday mornings at 7:30. I'm really hoping it's a good one because it would be perfect for my schedule.  So, I'm off to class!

Jean your energy to exercise amazes me. Honestly, I read everyone's messages about what they are doing for the day and it pushes me to try harder.

I have a full day planned so it'll just be a few miles on the treadmill for me tonight. I just saw the forecast and it may reach the 70s this weekend. I cannot wait!

Learning Spanish is on my bucket list. Are you taking classes or using a home learning program?

AAAArRRGGGHhHH...I can't get motivated. I did yoga too early yesterday, pup training for a couple hours last night, and then, I was up way too late on the phone with a relative. I got up early this morning for less-early yoga, and, now, I am dragging. Dog trainer wants me to come back tonight, and I really should, but I am tired. I may have linedance teaching tomorrow night, too, and Thursday I leave the house way early for a defensive driving course ALL DAY. Phew. I am tired just thinking about my week. I would really like to finish my quilt, but I just haven't made it a priority. B granola bar, egg on ww sprouted toast w/ mayo, pico de gallo on crackers, green smoothie L broccoli cheddar soup, 1/2 sandwich D must go shopping. Brussels sprout chips for a snack somewhere?

I'm doing Rosetta Stone.  I do have six  years of it from middle and high school so I remember a fair amount.  I think it would be much, much harder without that head start.

Good afternoon :)  Jean, how was that step class?

You know, I saw a groupon for an online foreign language course and I thought about doing it, but I wondered how hard it would be without having a background.

I got up and met a friend this morning for a heavy leg workout.  20 min warmup on the arc trainer then a gazillion squats, deadlifts, lunges, presses, and curls.  Its been a while since I've dedicated time to just lifting like that, it was nice.  Its always different when you workout with a guy.

I'm only teaching reformer today, so I'll have to get in some actual cardio at some point as well.  I made a plan this week that includes two new workouts - I need it.. for my mind and my body.

flatbread w nat PB, gr yogurt w strawberries, something for lunch (?), salmon & asparagas for dinner

Ugh, my new gym has state of the art equipment but the worst management!  The step class is brand new and there were no signs or anything that announced it. They send out regular e-mails, how hard would it be to add it on?  They do it all the time, have special classes, etc. and never announce it. One time, they were supposed to have a special Masala Bhangra class. I asked the front desk and no one knew anything about it. They had to call the instructor.  So, only two people came to the class.  The instructor has probably been teaching forever because she taught step w/ taps and it was making me trip over my own feet.  I'm picky about my step but I also think tapless step has been around since the mid 90's so if you're going to teach it, get up to date--it's been 20 years since tap went away!  Tapless flows like choreography; tap step feels like a series of moves put together.  Sorry about my rant. Another thing that bugs me about this gym is that they didn't hire a lot of good instructors I know, some of the more popular ones. But, the ones they've hired are far worst. They've hired some of the least popular instructors from my old gym and given them a lot of classes.  Why???  I've talked to people who've said they don't like the classes but they go because it's there.  I can't wait for my membership to expire.

I wish I could do Rosetta Stone in the car. I want to do it for Italian but not on the computer. My husband, who at first said he thought it was too expensive when I first said I wanted it for a Christmas present, got himself Chinese which he doesn't use. Yeah, I'm annoyed because he thought it was too expensive for a gift but okay to buy for himself for no occasion and then doesn't use it.

I don't really have that much energy. I wish I did but I'm exhausted these days, after the long ski season. It's just a basic step class--no sweat or anything. It was probably on par w/ a walk, not a power walk.

Jean - if you want Rosetta stone, buy it...you are in your car a lot. You work a lot. You can afford it. You want it. Don't let what you get be defined by what someone else thinks you deserve. Says the single woman....my thoughts and my actions are not matching up. Last week, I only worked one day, and I decided I would walk up a flight of stairs ten times. Only I didn't have my I d and the stairs need the access card. I could have borrowed someone's, but I didn't. I was going to swim Friday, but I was time challenged, and I fit in manicure instead of swim. I walked at lunch yesterday, but stopped to buy protein bars and bought half price Easter candy too. And ate it at work. Today I planned to swim, and there were no towels due to a washing machine issue. I told My trainer, and when someone walked by with a towel, he insisted on going to get me two...I love how he pushes me. Swimming was awesome. So was lifting for legs. Two minute bike warmup. Abs. Dancing, I love lifting with the guys, so motivating.
