So mixed up on the days Thursday

I think it's because I was up skiing Monday, spent the night there and skied Tuesday but I can't keep track of the days. But, it's my birthday tomorrow!  I've asked and asked to have my silks installed and it's looking like it might happen.  My husband actually called the contractor who did our basement.

I'm teaching step this morning, conditioning this evening. It's a slow week as work goes so I'm enjoying it.

Happy almost birthday Jean!

Karla, hope you're doing okay.  Please feel free to post about what's going on.

I had my CT sinus scan yesterday.  With any luck, it will have been read by the radiologist and a report sent to my doctor by our Tuesday appointment.  I am starting to feel poorly again.  Head feels congested, tons of mucous...  eh.  I had a pretty rough night and didn't sleep much.  :(  I've got one client today.  My plan was to do  a strength training workout but I don't know...

Yea!  Happy Early Birthday.  HEB.  haha.  Where did you decide to have the silks installed?!  You are going to be the talk of the town.  :D  It reminds me of that commercial...have you seen it?  This woman is sailing through the living room into the dining room in a flowy red dress.  I can just see you now...

Re: your post from yesterday's thread, it's funny how I will easily spend the money on my dog, but not myself.  Eegads.  Sometimes I think, though, that I'm not completely trusting of these offices.  They can tell me that I really need this work done, but do I?  Really?!  I know that they are all hurting for cash with this economy, but I wonder how much of it is really necessary.  For example, did I really have an infection in my root canal and need the $2,000 of work done last year?!  I really didn't see the infection, and the clinician got all of my insurance benefit.  It got the impression that the dentist he was referring me to (I don't use him anymore) was bouncing me back and forth for root canal - crown, root canal - crown, etc.  Hey, I coulld be wrong, but I'm just not so sure.

Re: living will, I will have to look into that.  For the most part, everything is in my name, also, so I theoretically, should have access to all funds, but that is a good idea to look into.  Thanks.

OMG, gymrat, you poor thing.  {{{hugs}}}

"I don't wanta work.  I just want to bang on the drums all day..."  I need to download that song, for that is how I feel, only substitute quilt for drums.  :D  I have a headach, in part from the crown work, in part from the fact that I need glasses.  :(  I am nearsighted, once again.  My lasiks wore off and the aging process is at work again.  Contacts?  Oh, bother!  It was nice while it lasted.

Work today, work on my quilt tonight.  I should look into the gym schedule for cardio classes.  Ciao.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Jean. I have to take my granddaughter to therapy so I'm not sure I am going to have time to get here early enough. I can't wait to see pics of your silks. I think that is just so cool!

Gym, hope the CT scan shows something. I have had a head cold for over a week and it is finally clearing up but was irritating enough as it was. I can't imagine this going on for months and months.

I did a cross-fit class last night and I can feel it this morning. Every inch of my body is tight. I did six rounds of: 20 shoulder press, 20 dumbell flies, 20 squats with weight, 20 deadlifts, 20 skull crushers, jog 3 laps around the gym, plank holds. I only used 8 lb weights for most things and believe me, I can feel it. I saw women using 12 and 15 lbs and I just don't know how they were doing it. There was a 63 year old woman in the class who was taking her time and doing what she could. She amazed me. Not only did she look healthy and beautiful but she was very poised and self confident. I wish you all could have seen her.

I dropped by the nursing home last night after class and FIL just deteriorates a little more each day. Hubby is stressed to the max and I am worried about his health. I told him he needs to go to the doctor and let him know what is going on in our lives. He has this rash appears when he is stressed and his face and head are covered with it. There are bags under his eyes and he is complaining about being exhausted. I just hope for everyone's sake this doesn't really drag on for months like they told us it could.

On a good note,  I think I told you all the we found out this week that my daughter is having a boy. She and her husband bought a beautiful cherry victorian crib and we have been baby shopping. I love baby shopping! Fresh, when you posted about seeing your friends baby I got so excited about seeing our new one. I hope the current situation with FIL is over before the baby comes so we can welcome him into life without the cloud of impending doom.

Hope the CT scan helps clear this up.  It's crazy how healthy you are and how you're being plagued by all these mysterious symptoms. It's like that show Mystery Diagnosis and it turns out to be something really small causing these problems (hopefully).

Can you get a second opinion on the crown?  I've had questionnable dental work done in the past. A friend of mine was a dental adjuster for an insurance company and she was saying that we're better on brushing and w/ the flouride, etc. have fewer cavities so dentists make it up elsewhere. I have no idea if that's true or not, though.

Sorry to hear about your FIL. It must be very confusing for him to deal w/ all that he's going through, being in a strange place, being lost by transportation, etc. Hopefully over the days, it'll become more familiar.

I think you should go heavier, Karla. Don't worry about being able to finish the number of reps w/ that weight but do as many as you can w/ a heavier weight then switch immediately to a lighter one when you're fatigued. I think you'll show quick progress that way. For what you've done, you can use more than an 8 lb weight, as long as it doesn't bother your elbow.

Jean, you might be right.I am so worried about jacking up my elbow again that I have gone really light on the weights. Maybe too light. I'll grab a couple different weights next class and try your suggestion.

See, I wish we had experienced trainers teaching these classes at my gym!

I actually had the same thought too... but ultimately, you have to listen to your body.

I know. :( That's part of what is so frustrating... The most logical outcome in my opinion is that I'm going to need sinus surgery and most likely allergy shots. I don't really mind the surgery as I tolerate surgery pretty well but the allergy shots... yuck. The shots themselves don't bother me but it means of a weekly (or possibly twice a week) commitment of at least 45 minutes. :( I wish I could administer them at home.
