Stay safe in the storm Wednesday!

It's suppose to be a biggie come our way and affecting a few of us.  I think they said one inf five Americans will be affected?  I'm hoping to stay put, if possible.  I had early morning clients and am headed for turbokick soon. It's not my first choice but it's a friend of mine and it's at my gym so I'll do it. I got some good feeback from the rowing coach, though now as I type it I'm thinkng I've already shared the bragging news.  Anyway, I'm excited to continue woring, although the problem is they do races and I'm really not competitive and don't care if we win or lose. Not a good attitude!  But, I like to work hard so that's a plus.

I'm with you and not wanting to race. In general, when I'm working out, I don't like to compete. i think I compete more with myself than I do with others. I think it can be annoying to have to depend on other people to get my workout done. I see some people who are very social and working out, and That just doesn't work for me. I am not looking forward to the storms. I have a dinner program tonight, and that may drive away all of the attendees. I've spent so much time on record meeting this, and whether can just kill it. Hopefully it goes well. I am still sick, but I am contemplating a yoga class today. I haven't worked out in almost a week and I feel like a slug. Plus I can see some of my previous progress on my toning and definitions going in negative direction. It's amazing how quickly the body changes. Enjoy your day!

Yeah, I hope everyone stays safe. I saw that on the news about the one in 5 Americans could be affected by the storm and was wow'd by that figure.

I know we have battened down the hatches and moved anything that could be a projectile away from our windows. Last time we had storm potential like this we did have damage but thankfully we weren't some of the millions without power. My son-in-law works for a power company and he is hoping there isn't major power outages as his wife is about to have a baby any day and he doesn't want to be sent out of town at this particular time.

I don't know if I will get to the gym or not today. I would like to get some weights in but they will close the gym if there is damaging wind potential as it is nothing more really than a fancy pole barn.

+++Power-staying-on vibes for everyone+++

I will have to chek weather.com to see the news of the storm...it was sunny tonight in Krakow...we sat outside in Market Square and watched the world wal by...here you could get run over by horses, golf carts, bike, mopeds, cars, busses, trams, kids on roller skates..maybe even big dogs...the world is in motion...FSN, I like the social aspect of the gym, but I also like getting my workout done...Jean, rowing sounds like the perfect summer sport. Karla, if your life were a soap opera, both babies would be born during the big storm...so I hope it isn't. I didn't work out today...I was going to go to Zumba, and then I was going to o to swim, but I blew off my colleagues last night and more are here today, so I really felt I couldn't. In my mind, I am not a confident or adventurous traveler, but seeing how other people are very unprepared and take no risks, I feel like I am better than I think...stay safe everyone!

I must be living under a rock because I've heard nothing about a storm today.

Did a cardio workout this morning and then some errand running.

Sooo... I'm contemplating a career change.  Sort of.  For a good chunk of my life, my mother and husband have pushed me to write.  I write a lot of stuff a lot of different places but I do it because I want to - not because I'm paid to do it.  I'm feeling a little burned out with doing PT.  I like the two clients I have but I don't really want to take on more.  And I'm feeling like I want to do other things.  So, I'm going to try for some online jobs (well, contracts, really) for copywriting, editing, etc.  The kicker is that I just finished recertifying my PT... and it's good until 2016.

Nothing is definite but it's something I'm rolling around in my head and I started working on a profile on a job site today.

You're part of the country that's not affected.  Dessert living has its advantages (lol, I just realized I misspelled it but I'm going to leave it because I love the concept).

I've been feeling the same way about being a pt. How long have you done it? I thought we started fitness about the same time but I started in group ex which I do kind of miss these days.  I just don't miss the prep.  Ha, and I just recertified, too.  You write an online fitness column, don't you? Are you still doing that?  Do you want to write fitness, or something else?

I'm thinking I might want to bake, or cake decorate.  I've been looking and have seen a few listings but I need to wait until fall when all my vacations are over.  I'd still keep the advice part of my job. I LOOVVEEE to give fitness advice.

Is there something in the air? I was just wondering if I should change careers as well. During my conversation with my daughter, I told her it would be great for her to find something to study at school where she gets lost in time. In that, what I mean, is that when I quilt, I get seven impassioned and what I'm doing that I lose track of time. It would be wonderful to have a job where I enjoy it more. The problem is that I can't think of anything that pays well Enough to put three children through college. As I was getting balled out by A restaurant manager last night for the contract that my employer drew up for the dinner program, and as I swallowed my ego with her inappropriate comments so that I could get to the right outcome, I wondered if my increase blood pressure was worth the experience. It would be lovely to find a job that pays well and that I really enjoy.

How much longer do you have before all three kids are through school? It's a good time to start planning now so that everything is in place once they are. Time flies.  My "thing" was going to be doing more in the fitness world but now I'm sure it won't. After all these years, I'm ready for something else. But, I never see having a permanent career. I like playing around too much.

What does your daughter enjoy doing?  My son loves doing math and physics so that's what he wants to major in and I see him in some academic/research environment. It's funny how fascinated he is with all that.  My daughter, OTOH, doesn't have anything like that. While she does a lot of activities and has fun, I don't think she LOVES any of it.  Or, as my son puts it, she likes anything that makes a cool tweet.
