Stormy Wednesday

We had glorious storms this morning with thunder and lightening that shook the house and are expecting more this afternoon. Hopefully they will be good old fashioned thunderboomers without anything severe. I can do without high wind and hail!

I let my daughter Abby (14) ride her bike to the pool with some friends for the first time ever yesterday. We went over safety rules, etc. over and over and over. She made it to the pool and back safely and had a great time, but when I saw her I about hit the roof. She is burned up. Before I left to go to work, I set out two types of sunscreen; lotion and spray with her towel and some money. She obviously saw it because she got the towel and money. There was no reason for her not to have used any. Grrr!

I'll be doing a weight circuit today and hope to get in a few miles between lines of storms today.

I'm marinating chicken with a tomato and basil marinate and I'm going to grill it out with squash and rice. Mmmmmm

What is everyone else up to today?

I realized I did post yesterday and walked away from it before checking that it posted... and it didn't.  Boo.

Karla, thunderstorms sound nice!  Sorry to hear about your daughter.  Hopefully, she will remember next time.

I got an invitation yesterday to do an editing sample (for pay!) so I worked on that furiously before having to leave.  I haven't yet gotten feedback on it yet but it was exciting.  I've got a therapy appointment today and then a massage.

Karla, I empathize with you re: your daughter and sunscreen. I am constantly nagging my family to wear sunscreen. Since I have so much sun damage from being a competitive swimmer when I was younger (and we did not know THeN about death from skin cancer), it annoys me to no end! And Gymrat, how exciting re: the editing job! I just met someone who edits dissertations for a living. She loves all of the interesting topics she reads while editing! I am so sore from yoga. It's amazing how in just one week, I can lose muscle such that the next class makes me sore! I didn't sleep well with my older dog shaking like a leaf all night from the storms! We have mushrooms all over our yard from the moisture, and flood watches until 11 AM. Work today, possibly yoga tonight, and maybe take dd for her driver's permit. At 19, she should really have her license!

I think I have lost my mind..I had my hair cut and colored today and I had a purple streak put in...for no reason at all...we are getting some rain here, so no chance at a sunburn...I made zucchini with tomatoes for dinner...tastes like summer. I couldn't post yesterday because I can never be the first to respond to. Post, and with Jen away, we are light on messages! Gymrat I am very interested in your Internet editing...because every day I think I should quit my job...

That is awesome!  I would love to see a picture of it.  Purple hair is kind of my specialty...  I've been taking a break from it for the past year but am thinking of going back to it after August.
