Taking it easy, or not, Tuesday

I've been lazy so far and am still in my pajamas.  I have a couple of clients later on and think I'll do nothing until then.  I had the best silks class last night!  It makes all the difference to do it more than once every week or two (or three).  I want to learn this next:

Of course, the person in that video looks like she's about 10. If I get it, I'll post it on facebook.  I'm not sure if I'll work out today or not. I might go to parkour.  The early class is good because there aren't many people, especially young people. What are you all up to?

Hope the break helped your shoulder! There really is a hieracrhy w/ some trainers and their certs. I have a friend who really looks down on anyone who isn't ACE or above (which would include NASM). I'm ACE certified which is well respected enough but wanted something a little better. I didn't want to certify as a trainer w/ another org which is one reason I did the Corrective Exercise Specialist w/ NASM, In hindisght, it was an $800 investment for my ego, especially since i'm thinking of moving on anyway.

Hi ladies. I took four days away from the gym - one of the trainers (not mine, but the one we all seem to consult about injuries...which is pretty funny because he is the only one not NASM certified, which is a big issue...but I digress). Anyway he suggested I take a few days to let my shoulder calm down. I think it helped, but my mood was crappy...I sulked a lot over the weekend. Two weeks in a row I thought I had plans with someone (two different people) and it didn't' work out either time. I find disappointment the toughest feeling to deal with....it sends me down a dark hole...so I sulked the weekend away...but back to the gym today to lift for chest/back, then ran 2 miles...I feel better...Karla, great job on your 5k. Jean, the girl on the flying trapeze...FSN, how do you find places to go dancing! Gymrat, did the echocardiogram involve cardio? Or lying still? Elc, my housekeeping trick with my mother was to clean my very best and then say 'sorry the place is such a mess, I didn't have time to clean'. I don't know if I fooled her...

I'm having a lazy day myself.  I had intended to do some cardio after my echocardiogram but I didn't...

What I love about silks is seeing noticeable improvement. When I first started, I remember watching people do that, in awe. I was so impressed w/ what everyone could do and I could barely climb the rope.  Then, one day someone said, "You're so good at this!" and, though I wasn't, it was nice that I could do enough to impress beginners.  I've finally gotten to the point where Im confident enough to try things and have an understanding of how it should be.  BTW, I want to learn that move. I can do the whole tying in part down low. I need an instructor to talk me through it up high. But, I'm still not convinced when it's time to let go, that I will.  Maybe I'll have an unreleasable death grip and my body will refuse!

Have fun w/ your inlaws! Do they visit often? I've thought that if I didn't have visitors, my house would become a hoarder house.

If I'm safely tied in, it's okay for me to be upside down up high. But, there is one climb we do where you're upside down and holding on by one hand while you stretch and then grab on w/ the other. That moment where you're only hanging on by one hand upside down? Scares me.  I don't have enough trust in myself so every time I get high, I freak out and have to come back down.

Sounds good that you're taking a break.  I don't know if it's getting older but I'm much smarter about listening to my body.  Hope you get snow tomorrow! I love the first snow fall of the year.

Elc, I live in INDIANA! lol It is highly unusual for us to hear the word snow this time of year. I remember snow once on Halloween and may a time or two in November but never this early.

And housework is not my specialty either. I figure when all the kids are gone and I'm retired then I will have plenty of time to clean the house. ;-)

I think a couple of my vertabrae cracked just watching her. I couldn't even pull myself up like that, never mind the flipping back down. Now I'm more in awe of you Jean.

Karla, where do you live that its about to start snowing? For some reason I thought you were in the South....must be in the mountains? Hope they're wrong with the weather forecast. BTW, good job on your 5K on Saturday....and then you went running again on Sunday?

Ummm, I had a good ride yesterday, did a couple of high intensity (for me) intervals. Today is a housework/yardwork day. In-laws are staying over this weekend and I always feel like the place should be extra clean for them. Good thing they don't visit very often, housework is not my specialty.

Omgosh Jean, I just don't think I could do that. I don't like being upside down especially that high off the ground. LOL

I am taking a rest today. I've done quite a few miles the last couple of days and my calves are very sore. My mind is willing to do more but my body is not at this point, so I need to give my legs a rest. I have to work late this evening anyways so I think I'll just do some light stetching later on and curl up with some good Youtube videos.

Currently it is sunny here but they say the clouds and gloom are moving in. We actually have a chance for snow tomorrow morning.

I am not ready for winter!!
