Teaching again Thursday

I haven't taught in almost a month!  I had planned out a step routine but didn't have time to practice so I'm just doing interval training/lifting. LOL, having a puppy is time consuming.  Wink Not really but in the afternoon, she's quietly taking a nap and I can't resist lying down and taking one w/ her. And because she naps for a long time and I don't want to wake her, I stay there.  I can't complain.

I think I told you all that I did the three day Perricone diet w/ a friend early December, just to support her and I always find it gets me back on track.  And, last Oct some time I stopped drinking wine regularly (I had a glass or, on occasion, two, 2-4 times a week).  It wasn't the wine but the food I wasn't eating w/ the wine but between the wine, the diet and ski season (it's not the skiing as much as I don't have time to snack), I've not only lost the odd weight I put on over summer/fall, I'm at an all time low, except when I was training for the marathon.  I really don't get fixated on weight but this is unusual because I'm not nearly as strict on what I'm eating.  Anyway, what are you all up to?

LOL, the claim is that an anti-inflammatory diet might help you look younger but I didn't find that to be the case. The funny thing is there are pictures in the book of before and after and my niece and I couldn't tell the difference!

Congrats on the new job! Is it writing? Have you thought of getting a job in baking? I'd been looking but puppy got in the way.

I hear you on the training burn out. I've been trying to phase myself out at work, too.  I have a similar client who is obessed about losing weight, at 18% body fat.  She looks great.  I can't help her reach her goals in a heatlhy way.  I want to work w/ people who want help to get healthy.

When you were doing the hard core fitness, did you reduce/eliminate the menopausal symptoms?  I'm hoping that working out helps.  I think the whole maintenance thing is about finding a healthy weight for us, and not trying to reach an ideal weight. As Nora Ephron said in her book, "My neck and other things I'm sorry about", it's about letting yourself be a size bigger and not stressing.

Jean, when I was hard core I had been on HRT for a couple of years already; when I started the meds it eliminated the menopause symptoms.

I'm a month away from 50 and haven't had any symptoms yet, except for missing one period.  That was a godsend because it should have come when we were in Costa Rica last summer.  I know it's just wishful thinking but I'm hoping I escape the other symptoms!

Maybe it's the way iVillage threads but I missed your post yesterday, SJ. I wish there was a way to identify unread posts here. I know I'm missing a few.  Do you get to NYC often?  I used to travel there for business way back when I worked for NYNEX.  I felt so grown up taking a limo downtown.  So long ago...
