The heat is definitely on in my area! I whimped out and went to the gym last night to walk on the treadmill. I am just not into physical torture these days. Besides, it was much quieter there and I got to spend some time in my own little world.

I have a zillion things to do today and hope to get at least half a zillion done by dinner time. lol

Gym, how is your mom doing?

Fresh, how is your daughter's job going?

SJ, I'd love to sit by the pool with a book for a few and not have some dripping kid standing over me needing money, begging for someone to spend the night, complaining.... lol

Jean, I heard there was some seriously hot weather headed to your area today and tomorrow.

I don't mind the heat so much, as long as I don't have to work out in it. I really dislike AC, as much as I love it, too. Why is everything soooo cold???

It is warm here, but I loooove summer. I left work relatively early, sat at the pool with my book, maybe had a nap, went to Zumba, then went back to the pool and went in the water - no laps, just paddling. The water is bathtub warm, but still great. Karla, I suspect you will go from kids to grand kids at the pool...sentenced to a lifetime of. 'Marco...Polo'. Jimru, happy birthday to you? Or someone else? Glad your mom is up and around. Jean, hope you have frozen peas for your son's face. FSN, your software gives us a lot of laughs...

It's what you get when you put all your angst in one basket while staining your mother's death!

Have you tried a completely low carb diet, no fruit, no starches, no sugar? I've been told by many diabetics/prediabetics that it made all the difference for them and their blood sugar.  It's all anecdotal but I've heard enough that I would give it a try if I were told I had high blood sugar. The other thing that might help is daily exercise. I went to a lecture last summer about diabetes and exercise and it does wonders.

Ugh, I'm having problems posting so we'll see how this goes.  We do have super hot muggy weather for the next few days! My son had his wisdom teeth out so I think we'll be staying put for the most part but I do have rowing tonight.  That'll be an adventure!  Jimru (sorry, couldn't resist), glad your mom is doing well.  Hope they took care of the problem and this is it.

It is miserably hot and muggy in the Midwest. 90s all week. I really hope that it cools off this weekend as the forecasters are forecasting. I am disappointed and that my sugars are just as high as they were two years ago which makes me prediabetic. Some endocrinologist say that prediabetes is diabetes. I have a very non-aggressive physician who is making me second think the need for meds at this time. Perhaps the risk that Medicine provides is not worth the slight reduction in checkers. I don't know. I need to steal on this because I know that some physicians to prescribe meds to me at this time. In the meantime, I think I need to really buckle down on my diet, and I need to work out every single day. My total cholesterol is a little high, although my HDL is also really high. Again, some physicians would put me on meds right away. However my physician wants to be back in three months For a retest. In the meantime yoga after work, and perhaps I'll take the pop out for some dog training to keep me moving. Elsa need to go shopping and get some healthy food like Kale brussels sprouts and the sort. Jimru, I'm so glad that your mothers doing well. Happy birthday? And Carla, I'm praying for that baby. I can't believe how much activity you have in your family. Jean, what kind of activities are you up to today? And SJ, I have been thinking about your spring, and since the pain in my shoulder seems to be subsiding, I am toying with the idea of trying to swim some laps. I'm just a little cautious about pushing my luck with my shoulder..

Karla, she's doing well.  She took two walks around the floor yesterday which is great progress.  She says she really feels like she turned a corner.  We think they'll take her out of ICU in a couple of days.  I talked to her Saturday, Sunday and yesterday.

Off today...  doing strength training this morning (probably a video) and I'm not sure what else the rest of the day.  Going out this evening for birthday dinner.
