Unmotivated Tuesday

There isn't any activitiy I want to do on Tuesdays right now and it's hard to get motivated to leave the house. I'm going to go for a short run but I've barely run the past few months and my ankle hurts for the first half mile or so, so it's extra hard to go.  I've gained a few pounds lately and have started eating much better to take it off. I normally stay within a range and am a pound or so over that range right now. Time to start getting motivated.

I'm feeling a bit unmotivated myself but that's partially drug related.  You guys should see my pill organizers (that's right - I have two - one for drugs and one for vitamins).  I bet I would rival any 80 year old.  Wink

I'm off today with no real plans other than going to see OP.  DH and I are scrambling a bit to make plans for the anniversary party.  We discovered last weekend that the Mexican joint that we love and patronized for years is gone!  Closed forever.  When we got married, we did cake testing and found that the very best cake was made by the grocery store down the street.  So, we thought we'd probably get a cake from the same grocery store (southwestern equivalent).  We got samples this past weekend it was just awful.  The cake part was fine but the icing was disgusting - it was like a cool whip/crisco situation.  Yucky.  So, as I'm super picky about cake, we're trying to find a decent bakery.  We have a little less than 3 weeks so we're a bit under the gun and I'm getting a bit stressed about it.

I went to the grocery store yesterday and got lots of fruits and veggies...  trying to improve my eating as well.

What's with everyone's eating? I packed on a couple pounds too. So, I'm trying to get back to better heating. I have still cut oats, blueberries, made my first batch of beans, and tons of veggies. I've got to get back on my green smoothie King two, as that seems to be huge help. I did early morning yoga which was awesome. I got lots of work to do today. And I am thinking of visiting my mother this weekend. My goal is to talk to her every couple weeks about moving into an assisted living facility. I think it's time, now, but she's being very stubborn. I also have a lot of bills to pay, and I need to get organized as my paperwork seems to pileup since I hate doing paperwork.

Are you having a big anniversary party? If you were in my area, I'd bake you a big cake.  I love stuff like that.

Ski season stopped and I'm home more. Being home more means more eating for me.  It's a terrible afternoon cycle.  I bought a vitamix blender so I could juice. Only we realized early on that it makes really good milk shakes, too.  And, even if I'm throwing in some healthy stuff, milk shakes are milk shakes!  Back to kale/green apples stuff.

We are and if you were in my area, I'd probably have already asked you.  Laughing

My day started off with a boom and I haven't stopped since. High winds tossing the garbage cans against the house and amazing thunder had me running to make sure we weren't being torn apart by a tornado. After watching the news last night of OK my mind was racing.

We are expecting storms and have weather watches for this afternoon. Add that to a boil water situation for the entire city and nerves are frazzled.

I've got cold cuts and fresh veggies for dinner. I plan to try to get in a few miles between storm lines later this afternoon. In the meantime, I am working on refinishing my kitchen chairs. I am hoping to get them all done before the baby shower. I am starting to get RSVPs and I am up to 20 now. {{Gulp}}

Gymrat, cake testing sounds fun...Karla, glad you aren't in tornado land. Jean, awesome on ingpding our on a ninja job. Karla, hope the chairs dry before the shower! Jean, i don't have a blender, but I think if I did, I would be making milkshakes, not smoothies....I am still involved in calls about work problems. I had to pass on swimming tonight, and I am actually not working out tomorrow, so this is not a good week for my '900 calorie debit or 90 days' plan. I did lift and do abs, and a puny 1 minute bike warmup. But I need cardio...I feel like the girl in the commercial wo says 'I haven't lost any weight, but I feel thinner'. I lost a lot the first week, but it is slow going since then. But I still believe this will work.

I think you're on a realistic track. We don't live in a Biggest Loser world where we put our workouts and food as the only thing in our lives.  Slow and steady consistence wins the race.
