Wait a minute Wednesday

Wait a minute and let me rest! Cross-fit tonight. lol

Sheesh-it was nearly 70 degrees on Sunday and today we wake up to snow cover. I have a bunch of paperwork to get done and at some point I need to try to tackle our taxes.

Yesterday my daughter-in-law had an ultrasound to check the baby's progress. They said the baby was moving around too much and they couldn't get any measurements on her. I considered that good news. If she is moving around then that is good-right?

Computer classes for my mother and dance for my daughter so it'll probably be leftovers for dinner.

What is everyone else up to?

I haven't seen the pulley things. At one time I had a metal shopping cart. I used it when I moved from my first place to my second, in the same neighborhood. I would fill my three boxes, walk down the hill, empty them, and walk back up...three of four times night. Eventually my dad came with a pickup truck and moved the furniture - which wasn't a lot - but everything else moved in the cart. I am not sure a cart would work well on our brick sidewalks, and I seldom go to the store and back...I string my trips together. The car thing is a huge mental issue for me. I am really afraid to drive...I do it, but I hate it. But I also love the freedom it gives me, so I hate that I am afraid. I didn't drive until ten years ago, and I still don't drive at night or in the city or places that I am not familiar with. I had Lasix in 2001 and the improved vision gave me. The courage to do what I do, but it doesn't get me all the way to where I want to be. I should work on this...

I hate Whole Foods too.  :)

Have you seen those pulley carts?  They're little wire baskets with handles so you pull them like you would a suitcase with wheels.  Perhaps that would be the answer to lugging things around.

Skiing can be a workout but not the way we do it.  We do a lot of stopping and it's working on skills. Hitting the moguls is challenging, though!  I haven't gotten my heart rate up, sustained, in a long time.

I don't like Whole Foods, either. I used to love Bread and Circus in the Boston area and Fresh Fields in my area and both were bought out by Whole Foods. It's just a high priced conglomerate now and the CEO is a lunatic.  I'll stick with the farmer's markets when I can. And, I like Costco, Wegman's and Trader Joe's if I'm going to a chain..

Gymrat - rest...your body has been through trauma...Jean - I still think skiing is a workout...Karla - I think it is good that the baby is active. I am making Irish Soda Bread. I substituted a cup of Jiffy Mix for a cup of flour...I let all my food stores get low before I went away...I need to make a big grocery trip but boy, the price of food is higher than I remember. I only have 2 supermarket choices - one is Who,e Foods, which I know some people love but I hate...the one near me is small, crowded, and very expensive and I don't think the produce is that great. The other is further away, small, crowded, and expensive, but not like Whole Foods...I try to shop the sales, but I am out of synch now and need to catch up. One thing that bugs me about my life right now is that I walk every where. A car in the city is not practical, but I am tired of carrying my stuff everywhere..and too cheap to take taxis or walk able distances. I know the walking is good exercise..maybe if it gets warmer this will be less annoying. But anyway...these aren't real problems because I am choosing to be cheap, I don't have to be. I went to Pilates tonight. It was great to stretch.

Oh... super tired.  I worked today, went to the ENT appointment and then shopping (more prescriptions - yay!).  The doc says things in my nose look good.  I have more "crustiness" on one side which is why I've felt congested.  He gave me cream for inside my nose and also some meds for the headaches.  Everything is on track.  The fatigue is a killer though... *yawn*

That's good news about the baby moving!  What did the doctor say?

I read everyone's journal and think I need to get motivated to work out now that ski season is over.  I've been pretty much a slug lately and can feel it.  I'm not sure what I want to do right now, though.  I haven't run since Dec and am afraid to get out now!
