Warm Wednesday

Wed, 03-06-2013 - 7:46am

It's going to be about 80 here today.  I know you east coasters are dealing with snow...  We're headed for a cool-down this weekend which will work out because we're attending a food festival on Saturday and it's typically quite warm.

I have very little to post.  Still resting.  I don't feel too badly but the fatigue is kind of a killer.  I'm not sleeping great but I suppose that will resolve itself.  Last night was my fault - my antibiotic says not to lay down for 30 minutes after taking it.  Apparently, there is very good reason for this because I was up in the night with the most wicked heartburn (that I STILL have).

Breakfast: Jimmy Dean sandwich

Snack: yogurt shake

Lunch: enchiladas

Snack: ?

Dinner: veggie wheatberry salad

Good to see you're recovering well.  Did you have an option to choose a new nose (have I already asked that?)? I think it would be hard to decide if I were given an option. Well, not really that hard, I'd change.

Sorry I've been AWOL lately.  I've been skiing like crazy and having a great time.  I was up the past four days, got in a lot of skiing and some teaching.  I just signed up for a four day spring academy at Whiteface (Lake Placid) for the end of the month. We're getting some snow right now, more sleet, just enough to close the area down so we can stay put inside. It'll be nice to have a relaxing day holed up.

No, I didn't get a new nose.  It's one of the few body parts that I like so we just left well enough alone.  :)

Nothing warm around here.  I snowblowed/shoveled twice and dh did once in the last 18 hours.  :O  It's a heavy, wet snow that is turning into ice.  So far, I am still working with the executive tomorrow.  I was hoping the weather would cancel it, but, oh well, this fits my, "do something that scares you" motto.  Although I am just doing my job, you just never know what kind of personality you will bump into and what that person will do.  I think I have PTSD from the whacky managers I have had in the past.  A family memeber suggested I do a stint at a management consulting firm, and then go the CEO route, but I think I prefer to hole away with my dogs and quilting.  :O

Gymrat, so happy that you are on the road to recovery.  Jean, nose job?  That reminds me of a former hairdresser who was disgusted with an asian anchorwoman in the Chi-area who had both her eye(lids) and nose done.  Well, we cover our grays, masque our faces with  makeup, and so on.  I cover my age spots with a lot of makeup and would love to get rid of those!

Preparation for working with this guy tomorrow ALL DAY.  Wish me luck!

When I was posting that, I thought Kel's got a nice nose, she doesn't need to change it.  But, I didn't want to discourage a done deal, either, if you had!

Executives have egos. As long as you play the game and let them think they deserve to be there, you'll be okay.  I'm good at brown nosing which is why I'm good at my job.  Call me cynical and it's one reason I'm not in the corporate world anymore. I can only do it for so long.

I would never really change my nose but if I had to have surgery and they were going to change it, I'm not sure I'd keep my current one. I wouldn't want a complete change and I wouldn't want to try to change to be another race but maybe update what I have. I'd HATE to deal w/ what Jennifer Gray has, with her new nose and being unrecognizable.

Thanks--I am. I'm still in my pajamas and thinking of staying. But, someone has to shovel the walk. Good thing I have the kids.

For me Jean... when your kids are out shoveling, sneak up behind them with the life sized Barbie and scare them.  Laughing

LOL, maybe I could dress her in my clothes, scream, "I'm falling!!!!" and drop her out from the second floor window.  That might freak them out.
