Rain, rain and more rain. It started yesterday and hasn't stopped. I have the chimney inspector coming today and I hope he doesn't have to reschedule. I like to get these things done early so when the first cold day arrives I don't suddenly remember I never got the chimney inspected.

I have my oldest granddaughter today and we will probably do a fitness video together if we can't get out and walk.

I'm knee deep in homeschool catalogs today so finishing book ordering is top of my list today.

What is happening in your world?

Oh, bad speedreading!  I thought you had posted "Windfall" not "Waterfall"! All the difference in the world.  I'm stressing trying to get ready for the trip tomorrow.  I've just had way too hectic of a summer.  I finally had early morning clients, went to zumba, and then more advice clients. I'm ready for a nap!

I'm so flustered today. I'll try to keep this short but I'm just really bad when I have to confront people. I took my car a couple of months ago to the service station to have tires changed--told it was a 5 hour job. But, they couldn't figure out how to turn off the tire light so they had to keep the car for the second day. I, stupidly forgot I didn't have my car, went through the express lane in their rental car which didn't have the HOV express pass.  I was ready to pay for it but they never told me they received a ticket until yesterday. The ticket was due July 1. It would have been $13 but because of the delay, it was $38. I thought it was rediculous that they'd expect me to pay the late charge.  The owner was so rude to me!  He blamed me for so many of his problems, even the fact that he had to call in someone to fix the light that they couldn't shut off. He said he could have charged me for it. I told him it wasn't my fault they're not competent enough to change tires.  Anyway, after a go around, he said he'd "pay for my mistake." I'm so tempted to escalate this to Yelp, etc. It really shouldn't shock me that someone can berate another person like that but wow.

Jean, that's terrible.  I definitely don't think you're in the wrong and they should have notified you immediately about the ticket.  I would absolutely put it on Yelp AFTER you get your car back.  One of two things will probably happen: 1) Maybe the boss has a boss who will see that and apologize for your poor experience or 2) You will save someone else the hassle of dealing with them.  I am a very frequent user of Yelp and have been contacted by many businesses after I post a bad review.  Case in point: I posted a poor review from our comedy night a couple weeks ago.  The manager contacted me and I've got two free passes for an upcoming sho

I did not get great news at the doctor yesterday.  The ENT did not like what he saw in my nose.  I'm essentially in the same place I was a couple weeks ago.  So, I have to get a rescan of my sinuses and he's probably going to do a procedure in September that puts stents in my nose that are made of steroids (they dissolve) so you get the drug but not the side effects.  The allergist did not have great news either.  He had me get blood drawn to check my immune system levels and he added a new asthma medication since the asthma has been so bad. Oy.

The icing is that my mom went back in the hospital last night.  Her resting heart rate was 130-140, which is obviously too high.  Once there, they discovered the rhythm is off as well.  They were able to get her heart rate down with meds and now they're trying to fix the rhythm with meds.  If they can't, they will shock her heart tomorrow.  *sigh*

Not doing so good with my stress over here...  Did two workout videos this morning (Rev Abs and Rev Cardio) which were kind of fun.  The cardio was a lot of capoera (supposedly) moves.  Got a good sweat on which is probably super important right now.  Going to a concert (Bruno Mars and Ellie Goulding) tonight with my bestie.

It was the owner. And he was pretty illogical and angry (I told him it was a hassle that I didn't have my car w/ all my equipment and parking passes because it took the extra day. He told me maybe I should have planned better and cleared out the stuff I'd need. So I came back w/, "Well, I was told it would take five hours so I took out what I needed for five hours. Had I known it would take THIRTY five hours, I first, would have gone elsewhere, but if not, I would have planned ahead." He had no response).  I'm just terrible at dealing w/ irate people and the aftermath.

Sorry to hear about all you're going through!  Here I am whining about something completely meaningless.  So, is all this related to the sinus problem/surgery you had before?  I must have missed the first part when I was on vacation?  I also don't remember your having asthma?  Hope they get to the bottom of it all. And, that your mom is better, too. It can't be easy dealing w/ it from a distance.

Jean, I think the amount of incompetency in the world is really alarming. A young woman was murdered brutally here last week, and it turns out the police probably had enough evidence to arrest the guy on a different attack on a woman last year...then I read about the guy the DEA agent locked up and forgot... for four days...he got 4 million dollars, but still....how frightening. Gymrat, so sorry for you and your mom. Karla, will you homeschool your grand daughter? I went to foam rolling tonight...the gym took Pilates off thevWednesday night schedule, which is better than canceling it each week, but not much. I did 20 minutes of abs, then sat at the pool. It wasn't that warm, and I didn't even read, just lay on the lounge chair. Think that burned any calories? At least I wasn't eating...

Busy, busy, busy. I just got home after Linedancing tonight. I feel like I am living, "just in time." I have an early morning training to do, and I certainly hope that I am prepared enough. I still don't have all of my plans finalized for Seattle, and I am falling behind on my administrative tasks. :( Jean, I HATE confrontations like that, but I am learning to stand my ground. I have been reading the book,"Crucial Conversations" about conflict resolution. It breaks it down into a very analytical perspective which helps me take the emotions out of the situation so that I can focus on the desired outcome that I want. In the past, my emotions would be so out of whack that I would say really inappropriate things that would get me further away from my desired outcome. Good luck with that. Karla, school books?! You must have the patience of a saint! Gymrat, the concert sounds marvelous, and POO on your sinuses. SJ, any more trips planned? Summer is almost over!

Seattle is really beautiful. I have great memories of a dinner at the top of the Space Needle..it involved much wine, and I remember thinking that if I went to the ladies room, the table would be at a different place than when I left...and I was the only woman at dinner, do I had to go alone. I forever refer to that as the night when the restaurant spun around. My then boss would say 'it revolved' but to me, it was spinning....there is also great hiking nearby, and the Farmers Market where they throw fish...
