I have one client today and am probably doing a strength training workout.  The house is still a mess from Christmas and we need to get things straightened up a bit before my client comes over today and my lady comes over to clean tomorrow.

Karla - did you get snowed in?

Hey Gym,

We only got a few inches of snow but we did get a lot of ice. We were right on the rain/snow line so it sort of spit out freezing drizzle most of the day. Just a few miles north in the top part of my county they got over 10 inches of snow. ICK! They say we are in for another round of it tomorrow. If that happens I can see power outages occuring. The trees already look heavy around here.

I am going to attemp the grocery later today to make sure I am stocked up but I only half expect to find any kind of bread, milk, or eggs left on the shelves. lol

I dug out an old Pilates DVD yesterday and will probably do it again today. The gym should be open in the morning so I'll head there to get a few miles in before the next storm hits.

Sheesh-have I ever mentioned how much I hate winter???

SJ, I am right in the middle of reading about the  resistance attack in the Warsaw Ghetto. I was reading that poem and it is just unimaginable for most of us. It is absolutely amazing how people survived throughout that the whole time period. I read about the calorie counts "allowed" to certain groups of people (often as low a 140 calories a day) and I can't understand how anyone lived. Many people lived off the equivelent of a slice of bread a day and a single loaf of bread could feed an entire family for days.

It is cold, grey, and frozen here. Very ugly. I can't wait to get outside to walk again!

I couldn't post yesterday...and Karla I wrote you the most lovely response with blizzard advice...also, on your Jewish resistance comment. There is a restaurant on my street that had posters commemorating an attack by the Jewish Resistance on places where German officers hung out...one of them was a cfe on the site of the restaurant. If you google 'to smuggle a loaf of bread was to resist' you will find a very moving poem. It s warm here, and I walked a lot on both Christmas Day and yesterday. Tonight I went to the gym and did a 10 minute bike warmup and lifted for legs and arms. Hope everyone is Enjoying the post Christmas time...
