I know I keep hammering on this but I still can't log in successfully w/out repeated attempts and starting the first thread is the toughest.  I wonder how many people have turned away as a result. I'm teaching step today and have a few advice clients. I think we have a forecast of a winter "storm" , 2"-4" of snow.  Most forecasts have been busts so I'm not putting much into it.

I went to parkour and aerial silks yesterday. I'm at the age where people keep telling me that it's awesome that I just come.  Umm, I know it's supposed to be a compliment but it's really just saying I'm old. OTOH, I can do all the chin ups/pull ups in aerial class and the young people can't.  I don't think I'm stronger than before but the climbing movement is the pull up move so it's trained those pull up muscles to move in that way.  What I'm really loving about both of these classes is that it's moving the way your body should move, not just planar movement the way lifting in a gym would be.

So Jean, you're saying that people are meant to hang from the ceiling via a piece a fabric that we hope doesn't rip?  Cool  (I'm teasing you...)

For what it's worth, I haven't had any issues with board.  I do keep the window open in my browser so I only have to log in every so often.

I've got one client this afternoon and will probably not work out today.  I'll probably rest and get some things done around the house.  I'm starting to wonder if I need new orthotics.  They are SO squeaky and they're driving me nuts.  I've tried WD 40, fabric, paper towels and silicone spray.  They still squeak.  Plus, I've been getting discomfort in certain parts of my foot.  I have a new pair of shoes sitting in the hallway that I'm going to try with the orthotics today and see if that's any better.  In the grand scheme of things, the squeak is not a big deal and I am probably extra irritable because of all the sicky stuff.  How often do you all replace orthotics?

Not sure on food...  My appetite is so weird.  Nothing sounds good yet I'm starving constantly.

Yes, whereas when the changes first took place, I had better "luck" on the board using chrome.  Now, IE is better (for the board.)  Also, on the iPad, it is better to disable the rich-text.  :O

I think it's AWESOME that you are doing parkour and silks.  It's just that many people "our age" slow down and don't try new things.  You are changing the paradigm for all of us.  ;D

Gymrat, eegads on the infections.  I am still on the mend, myself, but also noticed that a gf of mine had her flu turn into pneumonia.  At least that didn't happen to you!

I have a customer meeting today, followed by my company holiday party tonight and a company meeting tomorrow, followed by dh's holiday party tomorrow night.  I will be partied out and ready to rest again this weekend.  I have only done two yoga classes in the last 3 weeks for workouts, so I am hopeful to add to it this weekend, although I may opt to rest instead.  :(  I have to get back to doing something fun for me.  So I am contemplating some quilting on Monday (day off) and possibly linedancing Wednesday.  :)  And, gymrat, you are right...I think I need to do a monthly massage.  My shoulder/pinched nerve is acting up again.  :(

Next weekend, I will be visiting my mom and daughter.  No rest for the weary!

Hi Girls,

I have taken note of your log in/posting issues and have sent them all on. As you all know by now, the tech team has been working on a permanent solution to the problems for the last few weeks. I did want to drop by in official capacity and let you know there is an update to the iVillage tech problem situation: http://www.ivillage.com/forums/ivillage-women/around-ivillage/ivillage-help/ivillage-help/latest-update-1-17-13

And I do want to pass along our appreciation that you have all hung in here with us while we work through our problems. :-)

I can usually log in, but cannot always post. I find if I go back to the menu after I log in and then ome back to where I want to reply, I get the Qik Reply box which usually works..in Reply, I can't edit. I also find that if I go to the most recent thread from the menu, I can type a reply, but it won't post. Karla knows how infuriated inam by the incompetence of this..the technical incompetence is one part, but the communication, or lak of communication, makes me so frustrated...there is just no excuse for this. Our board ha held together, but some others where I posted or read are just gone...and the pain for some people in the loss of community is so sad. I feel like Ivillage abandoned core values with their handling of this..those of honesty and facing a situation...and left the CMs to take the flack and disregarded the CLs...posting here is a good part of my routine, and i am so grateful that you all are hanging in...my nephew is safely home..it was a really good visit and I hope made memories for us for years to come. I spent so much time with my mother, and one of the things that I miss is that there is no one to say 'remember that time...'. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and so does my nephew so I look forward to a time in the future when we can remember together. I went to the gym tonight..20 minute run, lifting for chest/back, and some floor abs on a bench. Jean - I am very intrigued by silks..I have never heard of anyone doing them in Boston..only seen people on tv...and you of course...Gymrat - yuk on the sinus infection. I hope that they find something to cure you soon. FSN - rest is never a bad thing....Karla - hope you know that none of my IV frustration is with you...

Silks is the modern version of Tarzan!  Have you tried baby powder for the orthotic squeek? It's why my podiatrist recommended when I got mine.  If you're getting discomfort, whether they're warn or not, it's good to get it checked out anyway.

What are all your holiday parties about, MLK? I thought we were fnished with work parties for now. I find them exhausting! I agree about the massage. What are you waiting for? I was surprised at how much it helped my shoulder.

Thanks Karla!  I just have to keep signing on and at some point, it finally takes. I haven't figured out a rhyme or reason for it.

When you get back to Boston, you can give it a try!

Have you tried leaving them in old shoes, forgetting about them, and donating them to Goodwill? That got rid of my squeeks pretty quickly.Tongue Out $1000 down the drain.
