Winding into Wednesday

I've had a few client cancellations this week so it's been really nice.  And, next week is my last week until next year so I'll appreciate the breather.  I still want to transition to something different but w/ the puppy, I need to wait a few months. I'm still getting my head around how much the puppy is costing!  I have to pay a dog walker to come in when I teach skiing which means essentially I have to pay even more to teach now.  Anyway, having had two gym workouts this week, I'm going to a class called Urban Fit at the parkour gym. I'm hoping it's a good class since it's a new instructor but in the past it's been more olympic power lifting.  Ugh.

I'm not convinced I'm a pet person either. I like my free time and my own schedule.  The thing w/ the puppy is that it's completely turned my daughter around, or so it seems. She's just much chattier and open about everything. And, when the puppy is calm, which is most of the time, it is nice having her at my feet as I read the paper.

I have not been on the stairmaster in so long! It's such a great workout but I'm afraid I'm too lazy for it now!

Karla, I agree that snow is better than ice...the weather is crazy....hopefully you can plan so some stuck at home days will be fun and useful. Jean, FSN, Gymrat, I am not a pet person...I don't even have houseplants...too much work....but I know that those of you with them love them and are very attached. I am just too self centered....I decided today that the only two things I want to do are cook and go to the gym....I maze zuchini lasagna tonight, but last time I made it, it was all vegetables. Tonight I cooked up sausage with peppers, onions, and tomatoes so it is a main meal...and then wondered what the 'carb' part if the meal can be...I always serve bread, and that might be it. I am off work until Tuesday, although I will call in to a few meetings...and I think I will make a pie....and go to the gym....I went tonight, foam rolling, lifting for legs,, and 15 torturous minutes on the stair master...

It is 60 degrees today and we are now being told to prepare for possible ice storm on Friday. I'd rather have heavy rain or a foot of snow than ice. I need to get a bunch of wood put in the garage in case we lose power. At least we will have heat and be able to cook. ;-)

My foot felt better today so I tried a few miles on the treadmill. At the first hint of pain I stopped; so I made it 3 miles. I don't want to push it now that things appear to be doing a little better. I did hop on the eliptical for awhile and had no pain at all so this injury is a complete mystery to me. If we get the ice and snow that the doomsday weather forecasters are predicting, I will be doing body weight exercising at home for the next week since I probably won't make it to the gym. It will probably do me so good to stay off the foot for a while longer since I seem to be making some progress.

I guess I will work on the laundry and hit the grocery just in case. You never know with these weather predictions. Some day one of the storms might actually turn out the way they tell us it is going to happen.

I know, Jean... I am barely training at this point but I still appreciate cancellations.

I'm training this afternoon and then off to a scheduled dentist appointment.  Helping OP care for the puppy this morning.  She's doing better so that's encouraging.  No workout.  I'm really sore from Monday and looking forward to my massage tomorrow.
