Americans have worse health than other countries

Apparently we Americans aren't as healthy as people in other countries. According to Health Day News,"The United States is falling behind 16 other affluent nations in terms of the health and safety of its populace, and even younger Americans are not spared this sobering fact.
According to a new report, people living in the United States die sooner, get sicker and sustain more injuries than those in other high-income countries, such as Japan and Australia." MORE

Well, first, this was probably a retrospective study, so the data is already skewed. What I would be interested in seeing, thoug, is the subset of data looking at the educated, healthy adult group referenced in the article. Why are they less healthy. Is it job-related stress, pollution, non-organic foods/poisons we ingest, obesity...what is it?
