Hi everyone,

So I have a major back spasm, and I just got back from the dr's today, and he says the main way to prevent back spasms is through yoga, stretching, and aerobics.

Do you do any lower back/abs/core work?

One of the issues with back spasms, is that it's a vicious cycle. So when the muscles get tight and spasm, it causes pain, which then causes the muscle to tighten. You have to break the cycle, and usually I do that by using a heating pad, taking a muscle relaxant, and doing some gentle stretches - without doing anything strenuous for a day to let those muscles really relax and unclench.

If you continue to have problems, I would go to a physiotherapist to see if they can't find out what the root of the problem is.

Check out Advocare's Performance Line. It helps with "feeding" the muscles with good nutrients before, during and after workouts. I had cramps and spasms at times after workouts and started using Post Workout Recovery and it stopped them.

adding lower back excercise (hyper extensions) and doing abs would be a great addition to youre current excercise and that would help out a lot good luck

i also work out daily

but having back pain and training at the same time is a headway for disaster

take a break heal up and then return to the gym fresh and strong
