I've heard that you need to take glucosamine for over 2 months, straight, before it'lll make a difference. That's from people who've used it. Studies have shown it's no better than a placebo (though, as everyone knows I'm all for the placebo effect!).
My dh gets it in his glucosamine chondroitin supplement. He takes the Schiff Move Free and it has had HLA in it for at least a year, probably longer. They call it "Joint Juice" but on the ingredients list it says it is hyaluronic acid.
He does not have arthritis but he is an ultramarathon runner and sometimes his joints get sore, so he takes GC. He has been taking it off and on for about 5 years, since well before they added HLA. He can't really tell if it helps him or not but his doctor said that it won't hurt and might help, so he continues to take it.
I've not heard of this yet but have been thinking about taking glucosamine. Does it seem to help you a lot?
