Motivation. I have none.

Alright, there are always posts on here about motivation to exercise and do other things but I have tried EVERYTHING! Having a certain food as a reward doesnt work, I really dont care much about clothing so a new shirt doesnt make me want to work out, saving up for something special doesnt help cause I never have extra money to save up anyways. So, what can I do to motivate my terribly lazy ass? I never have the energy to even want to go to work and I sleep plenty and take my iron pills for my low-iron anemia but I still feel so dull and worn out :( I also need something to help me motivate to clean cause that has to be one of the worst things I procrastinate at! Im really tired of being such a lazy ass and I dont know what to do about it. I am on depression medication and I feel better about myself and my attitude has improved but I still have no energy or motivation. Please give me some tips and try not to repeat what I previously stated in this post...

Hi Naz. I think many of us have been where you are at. Have you tried just starting very small and working up as you can? Rather than trying to work out a whole routine, try making a list with very small/simple tasks on it for one whole week. (For example, rather than writing on it clean the bathroom, try one day putting something like clean toilet. The next day clean tub and sink. Next day clean floor.) Each week make yourself a new list and keep it on the counter or fridge where you can see it. Something about marking things off a list really can help get you started. It has not only helped me get motivated but organized. I think one of the biggest problems I have had all along with motivation has been my lack or organization. I never really know where to get started so I simply don't. lol

What about trying something you enjoy doing, or have always wanted to try? I did a krav maga class this week that was great.

What about getting an exercise buddy? This has worked really well for me - on the days I don't want to get out of bed, I think of my friend waiting for me at the street corner. Whether I want to or not, that really gets me out of bed and into my gym shoes.

As for cleaning - instead of telling yourself that you need to clean up the *whole* house, give yourself 15 minutes each day to clean or organize or clear on specific area.

Naz, motivation is a huge struggle for loads of us!! And having low iron, combined with depression can be a double whammy for you. Have you noticed a difference with the iron meds and depression meds?

I agree with the others. Start small. A great site (if you don't let yourself get overwhelmed) is flylady - there is a message board around iVillage. They are great at breaking cleaning down into manageable components.

As for exercise, how about a walk around the block? Do you have something you can listen to like a MP3 player? How about downloading a few songs, or books and either doing a walk that lasts a certain number of songs, or a chapter of a book?

Another option is to put together a quick routine:

10 Pushups
10 Squats
10 Crunches

Anytime you have a few minutes in the day, drop down and do these. Maybe during a commercial, or when you get up in the morning.

And motivation has to come from you! I know it's hard. But instead of calling your self lazy, tell yourself, "I'm just undermotivated right now". Don't be hard on yourself. Love yourself, and your body will love you back!

Motivation is one of the hardest things to loosing weight, getting fit, eating healthy and most important fitness. I have liteally tried everything and the #1 thing i hate is the GYM! I hate everyone seeing my sweat. Its so growse! I like to workout in my own home but if im on a strict schedule i will seriously do it you just have to tell yourself to DO IT! http://www.Jaydenicole.com is a site you sign up for and you get daily nutrition and workout plans. Its created by Jayde Nicole who has a killer body and is a fitness guru. She was playmate of the year and has worked so hard on looking how awsome she does! She has made fitness a lifestyle which so have I. I have followed what she eats and what she does for fitness and let me just tell you... the weight flew off of me! You can speak to her personally and she will help you the entire way. Its a great way right before summer to have the body you desire. Sign up! Its awsome. At first I didnt want to tell anyone because it was my secret but all woman should feel sexy :)
