Hi Kitty! Oh boy do I ever know what you are talking about. First and foremost-how is your posture while lifting? Does your gym have mirrors? Watch yourself while you are lifting and be sure that you are standing straight, with belly button sucked in. Lower your weights for a while and work on making sure your form is correct because that is one of the main reasons for back pain while doing curls.

Do you do much lower back work? It's important to have a strong core to assist w/ lifing (and every day life).

Oh yeah Jean, 20lbs in each hand is very impressive. That is bit heavy for me. I can only work with 20lbs on occasion because I will wind up with a lot of pain in my elbow if I use it too often. I generally rotate between 12, 15 and some 20s with the dumbells. I mostly do curls with a bar when using heavier amounts as for some reason it seems to help with my CTS. I don't have near the death grip on a barbell as I do with dumbells. lol

I need to spend some more time on biceps than I have lately. I've been really concentrating on other areas and have not really given my arms the same amount of attention I have my abs and legs.

I like to work my biceps, it's the triceps that I dread!

lol I'm the opposite. I find working triceps to not be bad at all but I'm not much into the bicep stuff.

How many reps are you doing with you 20 lb. weights? I recommend trying lighter weights and doing more reps. And I also agree with everyone saying you need to use strict posture and work on your core strength.
