PMS Fatigue + Working out

Usually a couple days before I get my period and maybe 1, 2 days into it I'm SUPER tired...I try to work out 5 days a week (since I usually have a lot going on on the weekends and I don't eat as healthy), but there during those days I always want to find excuses to not do so. You ladies know that kinda tired is diff than just the regular fatigue...I know that if I do end up going for a run, or something light, I'd feel better, but it's still a struggle to actually put on my gym clothes...

what do you do? Do you just take a (couple of) day(s) off and try to make up for it or you make yourself go do you workout anyways?

I know what you're talking about! There were days I was so exhausted that I just lost all my motivation for workout. Sometimes it helped to push through because I knew I'd feel better afterward, regardless. Sometimes I took a break because I felt my body really needed recovery.

It's important to balance exercise and recovery. Too much exercise can stress your body and cause fatigue as well. I use a great iPhone app Mood Runner to help me set goals and track my diet, exercise, sleep, stress and monitor how each factor affects my energy and mood. If you don't have an iPhone, Cycle Harmony also has a web-version.

Ooooh, a new app! Thanks! I know when I'm feeling sluggish, I'll maybe just try to do one of the 15 minute "Get Focussed" routines off my Nike Training Club App, then at least I can tell myself I've done something. I also find I feel better if I don't give in to those sugar cravings during the day (I'm not saying I don't TOTALLY give in in the evenings LOL) but if I give in to those cravings during the day I find there is no way I'll have the energy to workout after work or at lunch because I'm sugar crashing.

Great idea! I tried to eat a piece of fruit or some nuts, or drink some green tea when I have sugar craving. You're right, maintaining a balanced blood sugar level is important in keeping energy flowing. Sugar crashing will just make you feel tired and sluggish.

I've heard that the week before your period is the best time to burn fat, so I up my cardio that week and then give myself those lazy couple of days off :)
