Welcome Rachel!! I'm definitely curious about the Shakeology - I'm a smoothie gal myself! I'm Miranda, and I'm pretty new here as well, but I do CL at another board. I'm 41 and am trying to keep active, lose a few pounds (on optimistic days I say I have 10 pounds to go, other days more like 20 LOL). I just got certified as a trainer and volunteer at the YMCA where I go to. I much prefer weights to cardio, but am trying to get back to running especially while the weather is good!

Hi Rachel, I'm also new here just signed up a couple of days ago :)

You must be so proud of yourself, your results are awesome. Congratulations. I would love to keep hearing how you are progressing, and to more information on the things that you are doing, as they are obviously working :)

I know what it's like to start the fitness journey as well. 4 years ago I was the ultimate couch potatoe and weighed 25kg more than I should after the birth of my second child. After making a decision like you to take chare of my fitness and health, I went on to own my own gym and to become a certified fitness instructor, I'm now over 40 and haven't looked back.

The main thing that increased my fitness was interval training, short high intensity bursts following by recovery and then a high energy burst again. They don't need to be long start with

Hi Miranda, it's always nice to see you!

Are you going to do another tri anytime soon?

Hi Kelly I was actually looking at one in August, but I've been slacking on the running and swimming. I would love to though! I'm having a few health issues that have made any training a bit sporadic, and I know to do another event I have to be a bit more consistent with training. Even if it's another try-a-tri distance I"d be happy!

Hi Kelly

I teach the LESMills brand of classes, RPM (Spin bikes), BODYPUMP (weights) BODYBALANCE (yoga, Pilates)

I also teach a class that we call box of chocolates, which basically means you'll never know what you'll get from one workout to the next :)

I have to say the bikes and yoga are my fav's. Bikes because you can control the intensity and yoga for awesome all round strength and toning.

What's your preferred workout Kelly? I love hearing what others are doing as we're all different and there are so many ways to keep yourself fit and healthy

Cheers

I can sympathize with the sporadic training.

It's great that you are getting into fitness and being healthy! The benefits go beyond physical appearance. You gain confidence, concentrate better, sleep better, and you're just a happier person all around. Tracy Anderson's Metamorphosis workout
