Being a parent is hard work, there’s no denying that! Our needs always come second to the needs of our children.

Very good question! I tend to do the same, always carefully monitoring what my children eat and how much activity they get all the while I've got my candy stashed in my desk and will sit for hours and gaze the tv when I really need to get out and take a walk.

On the other hand I also know many parents who seem completely oblivious to their overweight children while they (the parents) couldn't be more fit.

I don't have kids but I kind of equate it to the landscaper or plumber's house.

You're not the only one in this boat. My boys are older now and they are starting to eyeball the things I eat versus the things they eat. It's making me realize that this summer is the time to get serious about making food we can all eat together and being sure that we're getting the right amounts of exercise, too. I plan to make it a family affair.
