There's yet another good reason to try to improve your diet; According to a new study reported by Health Day News:

"This study demonstrated, quite remarkably, how some genes are turned on and off by what you eat," Draelos explained.

"As dermatologists, we're constantly asked by our patients 'what should I use on my skin to make it look better,'" she noted. "This next generation of genomic-based research is helping us determine not only what ingredients may work best for specific skin types, but how what we eat now and throughout our life can affect our skin as well. Science holds the key to helping us make better recommendations based on this newfound knowledge." READ MORE

I definitely think there's a connection. Years ago, I read the Perricone Prescription--getting younger looking skin by watching the glycemic values of the food you eat. I think it makes sense that to reduce inflammation is good for your skin.

You know, I hear so many people tak about eating almonds and that is an item I struggle with. To me they don't have any taste and I usually have to choke them down.

Is there some special way you prepare them?

I don't sweat a lot by my blood pressure is really low too so I don't watch my salt intake. I'll have to try them roasted and salty to see if it helps the flavor any. lol

I've seen the chickpeas at the grocery so I'll have to try them too. :-)
