Hey Karla, we have a few things in common - I lived in Bloomington, IN, years ago, and I, too, am approaching empty-nest syndrome, as well.

Oh boy-I tell you, I've lived in my house for 17 years (I LOVE Indiana btw) and the stuff we have is...amazing. I don't know how it overtook us. Every room, closet and drawer is just stuffed! I have been taking at least one big box to the Goodwill every Saturday since the first week of January and I'm seeing a teeeeeeny improvement. If nothing else, I will have at least 52 boxes of junk gone by next year!

lol on the being strong. I'm not really all that strong imo. I'm just very determined to do this!!

And wow-I'm learning things you can do with Excel that are amazing. I've spent the last two weeks doing functions and I love what I can do now. Even if I don't get the Microsoft Specialist Certification-I will have really learned something.

You were overweight as a kid? I know several of the trainers at the gym were overweight kids-maybe that is a common

I wonder if a lot of us saw it as a way to lose weight and then started loving what it did for us.

Favorite fitness activities - weight lifting, swimming, running. (but neither far nor fast), Pilates, Zumba with a good instructor. Fitness goals - I exercise to maintain my weight - would like to lose but I am holding on by a thread to where I am and not doing the food work to lose. I go to the gym for the social part. But I like that I have muscle. I know if I stop I will never start again, so I just keep going. I live in Boston. I post from a IPad so there are no longer paragraphs in my life. I walk almost everywhere but I count it as transportation, not exercise. I am a huge basketball fan - bleed green for the. Celtics and think there should be a national holiday on the opening days of the NCAA Mens basketball tournament. I am starting a new position at work, and hoping to make a success of it - and then to work in one of our European offices for a while SJ
