Our fairly new GE profile one just died, after 7 years. I never liked it to begin with so I'm not going to bother bringing in a repairman to try to fix it. Anyone get a new dishwasher and have advice?

Thanks. I was looking at reviews online. I finally went by what I thought was the best deal (lol, biggest sale and best price) at Sears and got good reviews. We ended up getting a Bosch.

So, how do you ilke the drawer dishwasher?

We got a Bosch two years ago and absolutely love it. You can't hear it running, our dishes are always clean and there are many choices of cycles including a quick one (just 30 minutes) and half loads.

We had a ge profile before, too, and it was a lot noiser than the f&p one we have now.

Mine does not beep. How interesting-did you see if there is anything in the instructions? Does it need rinse-aid?

I've read online that people have disabled the beep but none for my model. I need to pull out the instructions and figure out how to do it for mine. Mine can use a rinse aid, it's recommended but I've never used one before. I want clean dishes but I don't care if the machine completely dries them (and would rather not, really) nor do I care about spots.

Just got my new dishwasher delivered on Saturday and I LOVE it. Kenmore. Stainless steel interior, turbo jets, adjustable shelves, environmentally friendly, etc. Sales guy and installer recommend against disposals. Removable filter system much better.
